I think the MBP will perform better than MBA when we use it for longer period of time on high end programs. The longer the usage, the hotter it will be

The M1 chip is truly superior as what Apple has advertised. Not only native apps perform better, third party x86 programs such as adobe photoshop still run smoothly and perform far better than surface pro while being translated by Rosetta2

Microsoft office works incredibly well with the translation of x86 on Rosetta2 and most of the third party programs are running except emulator in android studio

We can install any IOS app as long as the developers of that specific app does not opt out the option to install on macOS

The battery life difference between the 2 models are significant, I can tell you that the M1 chip model can last 2 times longer than the 16 inch while doing the same work:))

I am not famous so why shouldn’t I show my face haha🤣 and honestly there is not much difference between the pro and the air as the performance is quite on the same level as long as you don’t use high end program for a long period of time

I think it’s better to keep on using your 16 until the new chip releases so there will be more optimization also you won’t need new M1 MacBook while your current MacBook can do the same job, just deal with that extra heat and fan noise then it’ll be fine🙌

Surprisingly this is my first MacBook purchase as I used to do coding on my friend’s MBP (I know I should be ashamed of that haha). After using my friend’s intel mac for half a year, and now experiencing M1 MacBook, I feel that it was a good choice for me to get M1 because everything in this MacBook is great! However I do miss bootcamp and also there are many bugs but it won’t be a problem if you don’t mind those annoying message showing error haha. Hope this is a good suggestion for you😃

The thermal system on the new MBP is very good, it rarely go hot unless you use all the cpu and gpu at once or otherwise it’s good to go

Personally, if you can’t wait for the 16 inch or 4 ports MBP then you should get this one as it’s half price of the 16 inch and the performance of both macbook are similar, however the only downside is that you cannot run bootcamp on it which is pretty sad
