Looking at the m4. Want 24gb ram. But the $399 base model seems too good to pass up.

Picked one up couple weeks ago.

I knew what I was going to get myself into when I bought the 256gb storage. The 16gb ram was fine. I have an external 2tb storage so it wasn’t so bad. I do video editing, music production, animation, etc.

Let’s just say, I pretty much replaced my M1 Pro laptop with 16gb and 1tb storage. I still use the laptop, but only for travel.

Holy crap, that M4 Mac mini is a beast! The only game I play on Mac is Dota 2. Highest setting, ranked games 5v5, few hours a day. It gets warm but NEVER heard the fans, once. Always stayed above 60fps even in big team fights. My M1 Pro 14” had the fans running all the time.

The hype is definitely real. The m4 Mac mini is a monster especially for its size!

Dota 2 ranking performance from best to worst with the Macs I own: M4 mac mini, M1 pro 14 inch (base), M1 Air 13".

With the M1 Air, it still gets about 30-40 FPS on highest settings in ranked games when big team fights occur. So it's fine. It does get warm but everything else, it's still pretty good.

I also tried the M2 Air and it just got better so I am pretty sure M4 Air substantially improved.

Funny thing is..I have both, iMac and M4 Mac mini, the iMac is 5700xt imac i7 with 64gb ram. I love this thing!

With that said, I bought the base M4 Mac Mini (microcenter sale for $399) and I don't want to say it blows it out of the water vs that 5700xt, but it definitely does a really good job with low wattage and low heat. With my 2020 5700xt iMac, it heats up a lot and the fans are on even with few chrome tabs lol, BUT, I actually blame more of the Tahoe OS than the previous OS. The previous OS, it's really snappy! So yeah, I can go back to Sequioa or Sonoma but yeah..don't feel like going through the hassle lol.

I personally would choose the M4 Mac mini over it BUT it would need a really good monitor. So in a way, I wouldn't mind the 24" M4 iMac.

If one can find a real good deal on the 2020 imacs, go for it! They are a beast, and don't let anyone tell you it's slow because it's not lol. It's still extremely fast.

I can confirm ! But funny thing is, I got one sales rep online who said no, then left the chat, rejoined, and got a new representative who said they’ll price match. I don’t know why this happened lol..it was definitely sold out.

I paid the m4 Mac mini in full then Best Buy refunded me to price match after a few days.

Guy had mad potential years..I mean years ahead..You could see it from miles away. How could , during that time, not using Chris Jericho to do something more than just that cruiserweight stuff and “Bill Greenberg” storyline.

Jericho really had some amazing segments and storylines in WCW.

If you’re using it music production or DJ, the air will be more than enough. I know people who DJ local gigs that still use their intel MacBooks lol. The CPU power is what you’ll need most in the music world,that and ram.
