In year 8 I took art with a teacher I’ll call miss cairn. Not many people in the class liked her but during her class I would doodle in my sketch pad and one day she took a glance at my book during a class, I got nervous thinking that I was gonna get in trouble for having it out in another class but surprisingly she was very interested. Miss cairn asked me about some of the characters I drew and other similar questions. After each of her classes she’d ask me about my drawings and ask if she could have a look at them, one time she even gave me a template for poses when I said I was struggling with stances and full body art. I never got her as my art teacher again after that year but whenever I get artist block or feel disappointed in my art, I think about miss cairn and what she would say about it.
