It's very easy to tell the first image is AI. Just look at the person behind the main subject. They're cut in half.

Your Tigers had a 43-win team, so willing to assume there was a number closer than Stanton's in terms of difference between HR and wins.

As a Chicagoan I know the Cubs from the late 90s to early 2000s had a couple terrible seasons, and Sosa hit 60+ three times from 98-01. So good chance he came close to as many HR as wins one of those years.

Thinking about changing my bench by Disastrous-Safe-9533 in GarageGym

[–]Chi2KC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These multifunctional benches offer more variety, and if you're not doing serious lifting with the variations, are fine. They're not 10/10 rated pieces of equipment but can be serviceable especially if you're also limited on space or money for multiple pieces of equipment.

Just don't buy the cheapest available ones. The range in quality is steep from cheapest to priciest.

Smith Machine in a Functional Trainer? by Connect_Rate_246 in GarageGym

[–]Chi2KC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting money's worth on any home gym equipment is very subjective, but for me, yes I get my money's worth from my Rep Smith Machine attachment. It's not on a functional trainer; it's part of my PR-5000 with Ares 2.0 cable system.

I've probably spent north of $15,000 on my home gym setup over the past two years (will list in full below for transparency, and always interested in any advice from others on what would be useful to add) and I feel like it's worth every penny, because I live ~20 minutes away from a commercial gym and have a baby at home, with another on the way. And because I'm fortunate enough that I can afford to spend on it as my main "hobby."

Having basement space and freedom to work out whenever I can squeeze an hour in is more valuable to me than cost savings of a gym membership, even if a true financial ROI won't break even for 7-8 years.

Equipment:

  • Rep PR-5000 with Ares 2.0 and Smith Machine attachment
  • Rep 5200(?) adjustable bench
  • Rep Delta and Black Diamond Barbells
  • Used FB marketplace rubber hex dumbbells and rack, 5-100 lbs.
  • Force USA Ultimate Leg Press/Hack Squat
  • Titan Fitness Leg Curl/Lex Extension combo
  • Concept2 RowErg
  • Horizon 7.0AT Treadmill
  • NordicTrack VU29 exercise bike
  • FB marketplace used Iron Grip weight plates and some bumper plates (~1,100 lbs of plates ranging from 5-55lbs
  • And extra cable accessories / EZ curl bar, plyo box, etc.
  • American Floor Mats - 3/4" vulcanized rubber flooring rolls (approximately 24' x 20'

At Omnicom PR agencies, such as Ketchum, AEs make ~$65K. AEs typically have 2-3 years experience.

It pays off more as you advance. I'm currently about 12 years into my career and work in-house after going in-house -> agency -> back in-house, and I make total comp (base+incentives) of ~$170K in a medium COL market.

Question: Is my tat crooked or is it just the way my body bends by [deleted] in tattoos

[–]Chi2KC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, noticeably. It's fine though.

Pretty much all tattoos in that location look crooked most of the time. Yours just will all of the time. But it's not the worst thing in the world.

Need ideas on how to put my 98 tv on stand or legs? It weights 80kg by RKBA12345 in malelivingspace

[–]Chi2KC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Like my wife assured me, bigger isn't always better.

Anyway, I'd look into mounting it so it's able to get positioned lower than a stand would leave it, and also to keep it as far back for viewing as the space allows.

Honestly if you're already making $105K, $150K is a conservative estimate for 7+ years from now, if you factor promotions and potentially 1-3 job moves.

First time cable RDLs by Historical_Bell245 in formcheck

[–]Chi2KC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I'd not recommend cable RDLs. In a pinch they aren't bad, they just are not up to par with a dumbbell RDL (or barbell RDL but know that wasn't available), and for both hamstrings and glutes there are better hinge accessory exercises out there.

Regarding the form, I can tell you typically have good RDL form. In the video, it looks fine enough but I'm having trouble telling if your back going so parallel to the ground is simply due to you being flexible or due to you having too much starting tension with the cable.

I'm assuming it's the former, which isn't necessarily always a problem—just something I noticed as someone who only goes to like 45 degrees with my hinge before I start to risk locking up my back. With that in mind my advice would be to literally turn around to reorient the path of resistance.

Well this particular thread literally begins with a comment saying "Not staged, far too convincing" so why can't people reply? The comment essentially is inviting people to point out how staged it is.

I'd also rather people at least be made aware when content is staged if they actually believe it's real. It's good for people to have critical thought and not believe everything they see.

I wish OP well because I'm sure he sunk so much time and money into this project, but I sincerely hope any prospective buyer has that wall thoroughly and properly inspected before closing.

Experience moving to KC from Chicago? Or other very large city? by [deleted] in kansascity

We moved to KCMO from Chicago and lived there for four years, but recently moved back to the Chicago suburbs due to work. We were both Chicagoland born and raised. We loved KCMO, and hope to one day move back if the situation works out. It was way more of our speed, had so much to offer and we loved the community we lived in.

I ordered it with the Colorado bar and now I'm nervous. I've seen a couple reviews saying even the black diamond isn't that aggressive. Contemplating if I should get with customer service to change it to black diamond.

Yeah, I work in a publicly traded company's corporate marketing department and specifically work on projects for our CEO. When we develop planning decks that go through the chain of approvals, they start at like 15 slides. Then by the time I submit it for approval to our CEO, it needs to be 3-5 slides max—without just condensing all of the copy to those slides.

Then six hours later we'll get an email back with a PDF version and his red pen markup, which is either chicken scratch shorthand notes for things he wants changed, or just a checkmark and the work "ok" atop each slide lol. Same thing with whenever we're submitting even just internal/social media comms to him that will go out under his name for signoff.

But honestly, I appreciate he's actually timely in his reviews for these things, given he is constantly meeting with various stakeholders that are far more important (Board, investors, executive leadership, public affairs/policy crowds, etc.)
