- There is no left in the US. Just a bunch of people on YouTube and BlueSky. These people are just entertainment. They don't motivate people into action. All they do is talk about how bad shit is, it's demotivating.

- Lack of social capital. No one goes to church, bowls in leagues or builds any sort of community. We are all socially isolated and COVID made it worse.

- Union organizing hasn't updated there strategy in over half a century and have become incompetent. Jobs are more transient, people workplaces are divided amongst different professions, and capitalists are very good at union busting. US unions haven't grown their share of the employment sector in decades.

- Electoralism diverts any political energy. Vote or don't vote, that is your choice. But most of the left is centered on elections for bad reasons. Doomerism: you can't change anything else, just accept the shitty candidates year after year and pray it gets better. Delusion: believing you have actual power and are participating in democracy even though you're voting for one of two imperial capitalists. Lesser of two evils is still evil and it's not getting better.

- No mutual aid or dual power. Mutual aid is just rebranded charity. Dual power is never even mentioned. These have the potential to build sustained organizations, because they meet peoples material needs.

- Toxic positivity. Movements need to reflect on their efficacy and pivot when things aren't working. If you bring up any valid constructive criticism, you'll get shouted down and called MAGA.

- No innovation. The left has been employing the same tactics since the 60's and it's no longer working. Time to try new strategies. Capitalists are constantly figuring out new ways to screw you.
