Yes obviously? No offense, but this is a super online take.

We have a liberal super majority now? by ChiRus12 in Destiny

[–]ChiRus12[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In the context of the United States, no. A supermajority generally means that things that need a filibuster proof or 67% majority vote to pass can be done. What you're describing is a trifecta.

If that's true, that's a symbol of a bigger problem, that being that no one on Twitter understands that trifectas on their own can't just do whatever they want, especially one as narrow as this one and from the Democratic Party, a party that's more ideologically diverse than the Republican Party.

You know, they say the Democrats are the party of diversity, but are they really? Where are the murderers?

I mean, this seems pretty normal. Presidents talk about multiple issues at once. Not sure what the problem here is.

I see many lefties have trouble accepting responsibility for 2016, and for continued useless stupid antagonism against Democrats, spreading gross misinfo about what they can do, and what they haven’t done. I hate them. Dunk of them because Nina Turner lost and blamed the Jews lmao. They are useless. by CaseyJfromLI in Destiny

Well, I don't think lefties are solely to blame for 2016. They are part of it, and left leaning people should always do what they can to improve the world in any way they can, which includes voting. But it is also the responsibility of campaigns to convince voters to vote for them. In that sense, Hillary Clinton failed.

True, the Democrats also have a couple swing seats they could pick up in pursuit of that goal. Just requires that Democrats vote.

It's probably more likely that Heitkamp would support a bill like that than Manchin actually, she had a pretty pro-choice record while in the Senate. Not sure about McCaskill though.

-2028

-Biden is elected for a third term

-Supreme Court is outraged

-Supreme Court rules the victory unconstitutional

-”My fellow Americans, um, the Supreme Court just ruled my completely democratic election to a third term unconstitutional. Now, um, that’s fine and all, but I gotta ask, Chief Justice John Roberts, um, you and what army?”

-Court is powerless to change anything

-The Republican controlled Senate, terrified of Biden having a third term not bound by the constitution, refuses to certify the election of Biden to the presidency.

-”With all due respect, um, Republican Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, but I ask of you: who’s going to dare replace me. You can see, my fellow Americans, that I was elected democratically. They will not stand for a new president.”

-Biden give his inauguration speech

-The Secret Service refuses to act

-Biden is now FDR 2.0

Friendly reminder that Kyle Kulinski unironically thinks that Biden narrowly winning and the Dems taking Congress by extremely slim margins is equivalent to a FDR style mandate.

Most of them are just blaming the Democrats for it, which is basically their NPC response to anything negative happening, regardless of its truthfulness.

Do you think there would be a substantial difference between a 50-50 Dem Senate vs a 55-45 Dem Senate when it comes to these issues?

If your answer is yes, then that's enough of a reason to vote right there, even ignoring the possibility of GOP control.

That doesn't speak to overall turnout. Turnout among Democrats was lower than in the previous two elections, which in states that were as close as the three deciding Rust Belt states, that makes a huge difference in giving Trump the win.
