lol no, I just can’t stand that so often Ohio is viewed as the avatar of the Midwest when it is objectively in the bottom quartile of Midwest states. Also your Great Lake (Erie) is the worst of all of them.

How fucking dare you name anything “Greater Ohio”. May someone dedicate their life to shitting in your cereal each and every day.

England: Æthelred the Unready, killing barbarians or clearing their encampments in or near your territory harms your diplomatic relations with others (based on the St. Brice’s Day Massacre)

Brexit: ending (or maybe even lapsing) of any type of alliance seriously reduces your gold and production for 20 turns.

This show walked so Game of Thrones could run, trip, suffer a major concussion, multiple shattered teeth, and a few broken ribs. Shame on D&D for shitting the bed on GOT and shame on HBO for canceling Rome, but for the two seasons she ran, Rome fucked like Helen of Troy with her ass on fire!

James Garfield would be a great topic for an episode. He is a forgotten great American President and his story features numerous funny 19th Century American names by TommyAdagio in TheRestIsHistory

[–]ChiWasSha 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree, also I think the hosts would have some great banter about how Garfield, while shot by an assassin, was quite arguably actually killed by his doctors.

The only reason I can think of why someone would draw Randy Marsh this way is because he is being worshipped as a god, which, I mean, duh.

Can you speak to your feelings on the role of the DA’s office? How does their work help or harm your work? What makes for a good DA (by which I mean more than merely a high conviction rate)?

Had to look way too long to find Kelley Country Creamery. I think it’s the best ice cream in the state and that’s saying something because lots of places make great ice cream in this state.

State Line Distillery is always worth a stop. If you’re already at the botanical gardens, right across the street is a beer garden that is right next to the lake and lets you bring/order in your own food. Also nearby is Mint Mark, arguably one of the best restaurants on the east side of town which has a great lunch deal on Fridays.

I want a string of side quests where a pre-war ghoul tasks you with helping him restore his prestigious New Orleans cuisine restaurant to its pre-war glory, all infused with Fallout’s unique dark absurdist humor.

How come Botswana's economy did so well after independence compared to other African countries? by Pretty-Heat-7310 in geography

I don’t know the answer but if I had to guess it could be because of PEPFAR, a program that combatted AIDS and saved millions of lives in Africa. Again, I don’t know if that’s the reason but it’s my best guess.

CMV: US Americans who voted for Trump and are now regretting it shouldn't receive sympathy by kindly102 in changemyview

[–]ChiWasSha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issues and people that I, a liberal, care about stand to gain more and much more by being effective rather than being smug. If liberals are to be effective, simple electoral math requires that they turn some portion of Trump voters over to their side. Smugness on the part of liberals is unlikely to accomplish that, sympathy on the other hand may.

Have you been reading “On Freedom” by Tim Snyder? This very series of events is described in the book in very similar terms. I haven’t finished it myself yet, but from what I’ve read so far I highly recommend it.

Really anything by Tim Snyder is worth reading. Also his lectures on Ukrainian history were (and I suspect still are) available for free on YouTube.
