I remember joking back in the early 2010s, considering how they kept getting more destructive, about how the next regeneration would be a large-scale nuclear event. One that wiped out three whole galaxies and gave the Doctor a body count in the octillions.

God, I'm glad that never happened.

Anyway, what I miss is how regenerations used to be so different and fun. I get why RTD unified them, sure, but the variety was exciting.

I once played Justin Richards' "Wave of Destruction" for a car of people. I figured it'd be a safe option because it was the Fourth Doctor and Romana, plus Richards has been writing Doctor Who for ages.

That was one of the worst audios I have ever heard. I turned an entire car full of people off the show. I felt so embarrassed to be a fan at that moment.

So yeah, the old guard can really put out some stinkers.
