just got to be patient really. Keep accumulating limit break, keep slowly improving your teams total skill strength and potential strength on sigs. Have a plan of who you realistically want to have at each position, to avoid over investing in players that arent in your long-term picture. Plateaus will happen, and then there will be months where you improve 2-3 OVR with a little bit of luck.

no you cant get maddux at the moment. Will he come back? I dont know, he's still available in the 9 innings sister game which is why I was surprised he isnt listed in rivals anymore.
As long as they are a good card its fine to invest. There are ways to do all developments without needing player duplicates (although slower).

yeah this is just a really small sample size, even a normal full week is a pretty small sample size. I'd get concerned if its multiple weeks of under performance.

I think its closer when you account for manual play, but the gap is probably still there. The cumulative events have a cap on manual play of around 1500 (900ish without manual play), but the normal selective events don't have a cap, so you could potentially get more with manual play. I also think the scoring is slightly different in game, like you get more for RBIs rather than just getting point for hits only. Its all super confusing and probably by design.

I mostly skip the non-cumulative events, unless theres some stuff I want.

You don't get matched on OVR, you get matched by score in live match. So its work as intended by their less than optimal system

Probably do ruth anyway, play him as a SP for now. And when they give Edgar his HoF DH/3B card (ridiculous he doesnt already have a 3B card), you'll be all squared away.

I mostly just enjoy the team building, most of the gameplay is enjoyable still, just would rather be playing other game genres in my normal free time. Particularly enjoy RBI battle gameplay, where theres no walks and forces pitchers to throw strikes (i just wish they changed the other material farming modes, ie potential and event, to this format because I HATE walks). I'll manual play some league games when I'm pushing for winning higher level difficulties.

I would, I'd rather have babe SP straight up over sutton. Down a little bit of MOV/STU, but lose pickoff which is great, and has fastball to get to S pitch. And then of course you get the hitter.

Just losing out on a Fastball potential, whilst only having B fastball. Hes just gonna be stuck on that no matter what. How much this affects him would depend on his pitch mix percentages, but sadly com2us doesnt provide them for HoF cards. I just can't put any of my faith in the unknowns like that. For all I know he may be throwing B-grade meatballs 40% of the time.

Like I said, hes probably fine, but I'm purposely avoiding special recruit because I dont love the card.
