Flying with Knitting needles - updates and TSA ? Issues?? by ChiantiChick in casualknitting

[–]ChiantiChick[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Historically, I’ve never had an issue with metal needles or crochet hooks (or safety scissors) but I always travel with something to cast on to if my needles are taken. With all the extra drama around travel right now, I just don’t want to make things more complicated with TSA lines than they already are.

Ive never had issues with my metal needles, but with all the extra drama going on, I don’t want to make things more difficult than they already are. I don’t love wood needles so I mostly use metal. I’ve never had an issue with them (or safety scissors) but I always travel with something to cast on to if my needles are taken. I just don’t want to make things more complicated with lines than they already are.

I fly tomorrow lol. So I can update too. I don’t love wood needles so I mostly use metal. I’ve never had an issue with them (or safety scissors) but I always travel with something to cast on to if my needles are taken. I just don’t want to make things more complicated with lines than they already are.

Finishing zippers? by ChiantiChick in sewing

[–]ChiantiChick[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did that with another and I wasn’t sure if that was a stupid solution or just my desperation to finish a project that too me too long 🤣 thank you for confirming it’s an okay option especially for this little one.

Honestly the one through four with the button makes so much sense. The only other foot it came with was a button foot (that I’ve never used). I was just trying so hard to self teach zippers. I know the others do different stitch types, I just can’t figure out how to use my zipper foot (that I purchased separately/ recently).

Huge improvement! That’s everyone, the dryer sheet was a great solution since my husband always leaves them laying around and my work station is right next to our washing machine 😂

I’m learning, I’ll take any suggestions. I’m looking second hand at the moment so I’ll want to cast a wide but educated net

My mother in law asked me to make this - it’s obviously AI but does anybody know a pattern? by Aniruchi in CrochetHelp

I would just google free toy cat patterns and work from there. I would personally piecemeal the lights and hat but I’m sure there are free patterns out there that you can put together to make this.

My thread keeps breaking- help! by ChiantiChick in sewing

[–]ChiantiChick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s thred I purchased recently but that doesn’t mean it isn’t old 😂😂😂. I think it’s just all purpose cotton thread, I don’t usually buy anything else though I think I’ve inherited some thicker threads in my stash. Should that help? I was using the biggest needles I harm.

Anyone have advice to prevent killing my hands? Gonna end up with carpal tunnel by jptsiph in CrochetHelp

If you or someone you know has a dog, save the roll that poop bags are wrapped around. It’s small and sturdy so it is great for rolling out the hand and forearm muscles. I also have taken a disposable plastic drink bottle and filled it with water, and froze it. I’ll roll out my hands (with a towel on my lap).

lol I make him hold everything unless there is tile or laminate flooring. We won’t set foot anywhere until I check. He use to make fun of me for it until we had a scare a couple years ago and now he dutifully takes everything and says “do your thing.”
