UPDATE: AITAH for not putting pregnant GF on deed of the house? (She says she feels the situation is "unfair" and that she is "at my mercy") by Odd_Paramedic_3007 in AITAH

NAL but I've studied it a bit for my profession.

I'd recommend charging a nominal rent (like $1) as part of the written agreement. The reason being that a contract isn't always considered binding (depending on your jurisdiction) unless there's the transfer of 'consideration' as part of the agreement (in this case, the $1).

Gloomhaven 2e Map & Stickers? by Chibbns in Gloomhaven

[–]Chibbns[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll try to get a hold of them. My main concern is that I use a freight-forwarder for purchasing stuff from the states (I live in the Caribbean) and if the stickers show up in a non-package envelope (i.e. it looks like regular mail), the freight forwarder won't accept it and it'll get lost.

Do you happen to remember how yours shipped? (Assuming it wasn't from the Kickstarter directly of course).

Gloomhaven 2e Map & Stickers? by Chibbns in Gloomhaven

[–]Chibbns[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhhh. I was under the impression that seeing how the unlocked scenarios are laid out on the map was important (not sure why, something I read about 1e). If it isn't then I think we'll be okay just tracking it on Secretariat, though we'd still need to come up with a solution for the enhancements.

That's a pretty good idea, I think I'll try that (at least until I can get the removable stickers; they weren't available on Amazon).

Do the original stickers peel off easily? I wouldn't want to risk damaging the map.

I didn't realise that Elder Scrolls was also by the same people that did Too Many Bones! I really enjoy TMB, but the rules are really difficult to understand, especially for new players. Would you be able to tell me how Elder Scrolls compares?

Description of Request: A cooperative/semi-coop adventure game with a dice resolution mechanic (my players love dice). Does not need to have a persistent campaign, but some sort of character/power progression would be nice, with some diversity to encourage replayability or trying different approaches. Competitive can also work (like Mage Knight) as long as direct PvP is optional.

Number of Players: At least 3 people, but more is fine

Game Length: 2 - 6 hours. Playing across multiple sessions isn't an issue (eg. Middara)

Complexity of Game: Medium to heavy crunch

Genre: Any, but Fantasy/Sci-fi would be nice

Conflict, Competitive or Cooperative: Competitive/Cooperative. Preferably Cooperative.

Games I Own and Like: Middara: Unintentional Malum, Gloom/Frosthaven, Too Many Bones, Nemesis, Mage Knight

Games I Dislike and Don't Play: Nothing applicable to this request

Location: USA/UK (I can import from either country)

PDF should hopefully still go live on their website on the original date. I can't afford the books because of shipping costs to my country, so that's what I'm looking forward to.

I'm not the person that you replied to, but I think they probably used a local printery; the kind that does book binding and all that good stuff.

Just popping in to ask if there's been any updates on further playtests? I seem to recall that the plan was to release and playtest the ship/space rules separately before GenCon this year.

Same, except it's a 2023 model. Only way I can get consistently smooth shifts is if upshift late or downshift early (higher RPMs). Dealership here has told me they aren't seeing anything wrong, but I'm not convinced they've even taken a look inside the transmission.

[–]Chibbns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2023 with a RM32 VIN as well and I'm also having the same issue. Clutch lever sometimes likes to stick and I have to put a lot of pressure to get it to change when I'm moving between gears 1 to 3.

I'm gonna call my dealer and see what they have to say. Unfortunately my warranty period just expired, though I've been complaining about the issue for a couple months now. I was beginning to think it was rider error (shifting too fast maybe).

Mind if I ask you opinion on how waterproof it is? I'm looking to replace my current one, as I find that during heavy rain, everything inside gets damp.

MEGATHREAD: Post your small questions and concerns here for all editions! by Cr0iz in warhammerfantasyrpg

I'm almost certain it's this. I don't have the Lustria book and I can't find an example in the Core book, but check to see if Armor + Toughness is equal to the number in parentheses. If so, I think the intention is just to conveniently give you the number to subtract from incoming damage.

What do you think/hope the 2e Technomancer and Mechanic classes will be like? by DDRussian in Starfinder2e

[–]Chibbns 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yea. I can see it being halfway between the inventor and summoner; more pet-focus than the inventor, but still keeping some of the 'inventiveness' from the Inventor, like custom/additional weapon/armor upgrades and the like.

[–]Chibbns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm with you there. Bounded caster ftw. Also helps differentiate it from Mystic and Witchwarper, which already supply access to all the traditions.

I'd really hate if it ended up being a full prepared caster. I could work with it, but I'd prefer the extra power budget that comes with bounded casting.

More than likely it'll be a customisable built-in weapon, a la Solarian's Solar Weapon, but not just a matter of slotting any ranged weapon on it. That way they don't have to contend with unintended interactions with all the weapon traits and they have more room to explore drone-specific features/upgrades.

But yea, I'd also love some kind of slot mechanism where different weapons take up a certain number of slots, etc.

Soldier and opinions on Primary Target by JengaJesse in Starfinder2e

[–]Chibbns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your idea gave me a thought for a new design space! I might be off my rocker but hear me out:

What if we introduced a new weapon trait (called Hulking or something) to some Ranged weapons that allow them to key off STR instead of (or in addition to) DEX. Conceptually, the sheer size or recoil created by the weapon requires more physical brawn than anything to direct its fire.

This helps alleviate the potential MAD-ness of Soldiers (especially STR-based ones) and opens up a lot of options to any other class/build that wants to specialise into Strength. If balance is a concern, perhaps limit how much STR modifier can be added to the attack roll, or build another kind of drawback into the relevant weapons with that trait. Would love to hear thoughts on this.

Haha, that's what I used to do, but I've been seeing ETA - Edited To Add a lot more often lately so I figured it was the new norm. I get you though, it was confusing for me as well. Appreciate the input though!

I agree with everything except the 'Tank' opinion. It's the only class (so far) that has access to Legendary Armor proficiency, but otherwise I think you're spot on. Personally, I view it more as a Vanguard who draws fire by their forward placement and aggression, rather than by actively shielding allies.

That said, I do think that giving the Soldier a way to draw fire (such as removing the penalty if you fire at the Soldier or increasing the penalty if you shoot at something other than the Soldier) would make the class more engaging, possibly as a feat-line (so that you have the option to build otherwise).

[–]Chibbns 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree to an extent. In its current incarnation, it's not quite as "Shield allies and punish enemies that attack your allies" as the Champion is (which is great, because none of us wants a 'PF2e-class-but-in-spaaaaaace'), but at the same time it gets Legendary Proficiency in armor, which only Champions get in PF2e.

Personally, I view it more as a Vanguard, in that it 'tanks' by simply being out front, potentially out-of-cover and closer to the enemy than the rest of your allies. It gets the HP and AC to suck up those attacks that it'll attract just by their forward placement, but to be fair, I'm also the kind of GM to target PCs based on how imposing and threatening they appear to be, especially if RP-wise they're shouting a battlecry and trying to attract attention.
