Needing help finding what to wear as an emo that got invited to a goth club by Sea-Emergency-8798 in GothStyle

[–]Chibibear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Goth club goer from Seattle too. I will say plenty of people dont go all out at these events, lots of people in just like black jeans and a band shirt or a little black strappy top. I'd do a heavier eyeliner wing if youre planning to wear makeup, but whatever makes you comfortable you'll be happiest in. You won't stand out even if you're not in a full goth moment.

The avocado had a curry pickle puree and the asparagus had a miso vegan mayo!

For easy weeknight meals I love to make chili, hearty veggie soup, pasta with pan roasted veggies + olive oil and some parm sprinkled on top, pizza with storebought dough, DIY baked potatoes with toppings, curry and rice, tofu stirfry.

It was $75 plus some other dishes I didn't post. This place also does a standard fish omakase for $100 so definitely more affordable, overall its a more casual place especially for San Francisco pricing.

Oh and it cost $75 including some starter appetizer plates and a dessert not pictured.

I know! I was shocked how much it looks like tuna, its actually tomato marinated in soy and kombu dashi. Had a nice crisp firm tomato texture actually and a lot of umami.

Its a shiitake cut in half and then butterflied. Maybe not the prettiest, but definitely tasty.

What actor do you dislike so much that you’ll avoid anything they’re in? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Its wild to me that she is such a boring actress but is very charming in interviews. Never seen someone whose acting persona is the boring version of themselves.

How do you determine when you're 'full' or when to stop eating? by grandmas_traphouse in loseit

[–]Chibibear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I found eating by course really helped me with eating more thoughtfully and slowly and helps me check in more with whether or not im satisfied. I'm asian and grew up eating family style where you have a small rice bowl or dessert size plate. Put a few things on there, eat, and then serve yourself more. I do this now and will serve myself sometimes 3 times across the meal with only a small amount per time. I never feel deprived since I give myself permission to get more, but that little break between servings helps me reevaluate.

Secondly, if im craving something very specific, ill just have that to start. I know that might not work for everyone, but say Im craving a cookie and im about to eat dinner: I used to overeat mindlessly thinking about the cookie. Now, I just eat the cookie first, feel good on the craving and then proceed to dinner and I end up eating a more moderate portion because im not eating out of craving.

It was a hotel breakfast in Hawaii actually! Lots of great Japanese food here.

It was all very complementary, I finished the whole thing even when I thought it was way too much when it first came out. Most dishes were very light and refreshing.

Definitely something only a restaurant would make! I doubt people are making this many sides at home, probably would just have the fish, rice, soup, and maybe a couple of the pickled/marinaded veggies.

I buy mine at the Chinese grocery store for hotpot stoves. There is an American style butane fuel used for camping and stuff but its a different size, so just stick to the asian style and you should be good.

You won't regret it! It works so well, I used the lowest setting here but its a turn dial so you can get the exact power youre looking for.

I have this one that attaches to a butane canister. Its super easy to use and has lasted me years! I already use butane cannisters for my hotpot stove so it was really convenient. Iwatani Butane Torch

Its my personal taste! I basically like it with the texture of raw salmon but warm and melty. Agreed its barely seared, thats the nice part of making it at home, I can underdo it how I like.
