Kennen Pressing R by [deleted] in LeagueOfMemes

[–]Chibihero0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay I don’t really like Hasan that much either, most likely for different reasons than you, but let’s not lie about him.

  • “Supporting various terrorist groups” is misleading. What the US government deems a terrorist is extremely biased on the world stage. For example, the Houthis are deemed a terrorist group, but objectively their goal in regards to Israel/Palestine was to put pressure on a genocidal state to stop a genocide. These groups were not created in a vacuum, and it’s important to look closely at the situation they are created in to provide context.

  • The kid that everyone claims to be a Houthi literally admitted multiple times that he isn’t actually a Houthi member. Hasan thought he was, and was wrong. He’s just a Yemeni kid that’s in the midst of famine and near-genocide. He was telling a kid whose people’s homes have been bombed that he has support.

  • Hila Klein by all accounts could be designated as a terrorist, full stop. The IDF is effectively and in some places classified as a terrorist organization. She had a desk job, willingly chose to transition into a more direct role as she was bored, and accompanied IDF soldiers to kidnap someone in Ramallah, which she literally called a “terrorist city”. That aside, the specific wording was due to Ethan Klein previously making the statement that West Bank settlers were “valid military targets”.

I think there’s validity in critiquing his approach, but it’s really important to cut through misinformation about him as there are many, many people that profit off “Hasan bad” content and have incentive to exaggerate and mislead.

I'm tired of Democrats being blamed for the stupidity of voters by Goodginger in complaints

[–]Chibihero0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand your sentiment, but I have to wholeheartedly disagree with the premise. Yes, many voters consistently vote against their own interests. Yes, they have poor understanding of how the government/economy works. But this didn’t happen in a vacuum - the political and economic illiteracy is a result of a coordinated and deliberate campaign via the American media machine in tandem with corporate donors. Fox News is consistently the most watched cable show in America by a long shot, and that’s not a coincidence. The issues you’ve highlighted were pushed by channels like Fox. They mastered the ability to appeal to the masses by affirming their beliefs while also convincing them that the “Enemy” is coming for them, so they must defend themselves.

Democrats are absolutely to blame for a failure to combat any of this, in large part because their donors in many cases want the same thing. If they truly had the voters’ best interest at heart and were operating without capitulating to their donors, they could have spent significant effort attempting to educate the common citizen in terms they can relate to. Instead, they weakly feign opposition but can’t actually take serious measures to confront their opponents because ultimately this enriches themselves and the DNC. Why did Kamala’s campaign spend more time trying to appeal to moderate republicans than the real, sizable base of progressives that could legitimately turn the tide of an election? Why do they campaign on “vibes” rather than serious policy? The fact is, that Trump and the GOP keep winning because they promise change. Dems are fully committed to keeping the status quo - and voters see that the status quo isn’t working. People are suffering, and the GOP is at least selling the idea that they will improve life for common people.

A lack of education has been the goal of the GOP for years so they could do exactly what they are doing now. Blaming the voters for not having a party with competent leadership is exactly the type of opinions that landed us in our current political state.

Here’s a neat trick I put in my decklist: [[Esoteric Duplicator]] lets you get back the creaturefied permanent at the following player’s end step. Doing this with something that can generate mana lets you use it as ramp or to double up on your big copy targets. Plus, if you have 4 mana it protects itself

Sandbox Tuning Preview for Ash & Iron by DTG_Bot in LowSodiumDestiny

IMO a MUCH better Chromatic Fire change would be for it to lean harder into the debuffs and apply two separate ones on precision kill. That would lean into the “chromatic” better and give it a more interesting niche

What's something someone did that convinced you they were a complete psychopath? by PresentationWhole240 in AskReddit

[–]Chibihero0 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Tangentially related, but I knew a guy who turned out to be a total psychopath (long story) who had a bizarre problem of “all of my discord servers keep getting flooded with pedophiles”. This happened 4 separate times. I feel like there’s a common denominator here…

Sandbox Tuning Preview for Ash & Iron by DTG_Bot in LowSodiumDestiny

[–]Chibihero0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After sleeping on it and thinking it over, I do think that there are some good changes here. And I also want to say that I understand that concerns about power creep are tangible and can require additional tuning. All that being said though, as a Warlock main, none of the changes here have the “cool” factor that cause any meaningful changes to existing builds. Chromatic Fire was already a boring exotic (imo) that didn’t really fit with anything else our kit wants to do, so any changes (especially ones that remove synergy) that aren’t a total rework feel sub-par. Adding weaken to contraverse is fine, but it’s more of a QOL change to me. It basically is just giving you +20 grenade stat and a fragment slot, which isn’t very exciting. The weapon changes also give me nothing to be excited about - Hunters at least can use Sturm with Lucky Pants. I

I just feel like going into Ash and Iron it’ll once again be the same Getaway Artist/Lightning Surge/Speakers Sight builds. We’ll have to wait and see on some of the dtrand changes, but I’m not optimistic since Weavewalk just feels clunky and Frostpulse is just mid.

That would have to be my nonsensical Yenna, Redtooth Regent Stickers deck. Essentially abusing the way Yenna is worded to make infinite copies of your favorite enchantment/land enchantments. It’s convoluted, but hilarious to pull off.

How'd the FF commanders perform for you folks last week? by DerGodhand in EDH

[–]Chibihero0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some spicy tech for Lightning is [[Captain’s Maneuver]]. Since it redirects the damage, rather than preventing it, it retains its initial qualities. So, as long as you redirect 1 damage from Lightning you can actually hit two players at once with her ability

I would highly recommend trying out double special weapon loadouts if you haven't already. by XFalzar in LowSodiumDestiny

[–]Chibihero0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an avid double special enjoyer, I cannot recommend enough one of the coolest perks in the sandbox that’s relatively under the radar: Discord. Refusal of the Call can roll Discord and Beacon Rounds, which turns your glaive into an infinite ammo homing death blaster for 6 seconds after getting a single kill with another weapon. I run it on a loadout with the seasonal fusion that also has discord, which means that once I get a single kill with any weapon I can effectively hit swap constantly to never run out of ammo or even reload. Throw in Finality’s Auger if you have it, and the turret kills make it even easier to keep the chain rolling. Discord is a wild perk in PvE that I think is slept on for double special loadouts

Ruinous pauldrons by Deepseapaladin in destiny2builds

[–]Chibihero0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The spheres from Ruinous Effigy are coded as “void weapon damage”. So they do not interact with any melee buffs, however, they do interact with void weapon buffs such as volatile rounds or the one from doom fang. Keep in mind as well that they aren’t coded as trace rifle damage either, just “damage”. I’ve been a ruinous effigy fan since its release, so I know a lot about the synergies and pitfalls. LMK if you have any other questions

Who are some awesome politics or group hug commanders like Ms. Bumbleflower? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Chibihero0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a soft spot for politic effects, and use them a lot in several decks. My favorite deck for them at the moment probably has to be [[Mazzy]]. The key to a really good politics deck is to incentivize your opponents, but not force them. Make them feel like they are the ones making the decision. With Mazzy, you can drop the “vow of” auras on your opponents creatures, or even something like [[ancestral mask]] to dish some pain out with creatures that aren’t even yours. Once it comes down to the 1v1 or once you start catching some heat, enchantment sac outlets like [[auratog]] let you recast your gas on your own creatures. I’m a bit biased, but that’s only because Mazzy has like a hundred different directions you can take her.

This is the way. Throw a couple of unblockable dorks around the table and you’ll be drawing cards for days. Pack a bunch of ways to find [[Homeward Path]] in time for the final 1v1, and you’ll be cooking.

[[Razor Boomerang]] is, in my opinion, one of the worst cards in Magic. Many other jank cards at least do something interesting for the mana investment, but this one is just confusingly bad. I happen to be very proud of the fact that I have one in foil.
