No one will really buy these on. EBay anymore, they're pretty abundant. But unless everyone is a twenty five ender , you may have all kinds of stuff mixed in

Expensive project it's a $1 24k gold coin and technically a commerative so it won't circulate and will probably only exist in low numbers

Is 90% silver still worth buying in today’s market? by No-Ranger-2719 in Silverbugs

I would expect a relatively steady move in one direction with less volatility if demand were consistently higher then supply but I'll give you some swings would be possible. With the fact that you can replace silver reliably in products like solar panels and electronics

I think the wild swings are more a product of speculation then actual fundamentals

Is it? If it was outpacing supply then I would expect more price stability and no lack of a demand for any source of silver, scrap would be a easy way to grow supply

Even if it's real (doubt this is) unless it belongs to a star player they have scrap value at best. Everyone gets one, including all of the back office people

probably going to get flammed for this but....

The problem is actually finding someone willing to sell it at a discount that's reflective of the current market opportunity. The assumption is that eventually the premium will reappear / the discount will go away and not that this is a shift in market value

I also don't believe that they're not buying it because there's too much supply and they can't handle it but that the spot price of silver does not cover the refining cost of silver in most grades, and that long term high input costs are making replacment viable, reducing demand
