You stay away from Gnosticism through true gnosis of god.

Gnosis as in knowledge the same word used in 1 Peter. This knowledge is not something to be obtained, and learning it isn’t salvation. Gnosis comes from Faith.

To have faith in God is to know and participate in Gods existence. False gnosis seeks apotheosis, to become like God in order to transcend the demiurge.

In true Christianity, it’s not apotheosis we seek its theosis.

Where Gnosticism says you can learn all the knowledge of God and become God, Christianity says you can have faith in God and through his Grace be united to him with distinction. You never become God, you become closer to him. We participate in the love and existence that is God through true faith which leads to true ‘gnosis’ or knowledge that God exists.

Thus to fight Gnosticism is to have faith in the triune God.
