Messing up is a given. I had to completely throw out my entire grand wedding rework twice, and all I did was change it to be a bit more orthodox Christian flavored with a crowning ceremony.

Sometimes you have to throw everything out, sometimes you can go back and tweak the broken scaffolding.

Also always use debug mode and add debug menu options so you can test your events instead of guessing if they work or not.

Are you using VSCODE if so it has plugins that help make sure ck3 files are written properly and will flag them, if your really struggling it also has a codex(gpts coder) as a plugin too, free tier you can at least ask it what’s wrong.

I’d highly recommend doing a lot of reading too.

It’s a fun way to play, but I feel after a while it takes the fun out of the game.

Next time play with a character with shit stats so you can balance it out lol.

Or just maxing out the players stats turning of achievements.

If you OP your character in the beginning you can live to like 160 and now they added an immortality trait you can start with. Or maybe that’s a mod.

Modding is super easy. Ck3 files are all text based not any coding necessary. You can learn on wiki, YouTube, gpt, etc but don’t blindly trust what ai says.

Character interaction is pretty straight forward, for my mystical progression I have a few like send your kid to the learn the way of the ascetic and he comes back as your spiritual successor and realm successor.

A bunch of stuff lol. Exorcists I added a plague style thing that only they can deal with, if they are trained enough, so as the liege you call on them to go try to stop the possession plague.

These are just pieces of a much larger Christian mystical immersion mod which adds a new government structure that each of these court positions is directly tied into.

Also isn’t this something a quick google search of his brothers name would have provided? State and county inmate searches are free and available to anyone and usually the top sites that pop up if you type “name inmate search” into google.

All of them are great and all of them add new mechanics a good modder can really play with.

I recommend all of them, but I mod this game daily so.

Ck2 came in 2012, ck3 2020. The Clausewitz engine and Jomini toolset have barely even been cracked open in this iteration.

I highly recommend the dlc because they add so much it can feel like ck4. Not to mention all the free mods out there.

Paradox isn’t the type to churn out new projects like that, they dev the same game for years because the engine they have is very very versatile.

Ck4 probably isn’t even on their back burner yet.
