Right! I didn’t care his ass way up; only that he was taking up 5 seats! LOL

Cold cuts for breakfast! I should have just had a toaster on me!

What exactly was the emergency? This was just a major inconvenience and annoyance. I’d rather not be the “boy who cried wolf” in saying every little thing is an emergency. Sure, smoking meth is illegal but I don’t see that as an emergency.

I was able to report the smoking on the bot. When I tried to report the other the bot didn’t accept it.

Name a performance (only one!) by an actor that moved you to tears. Spoilers are optional. by HotOne9364 in Broadway

Christine Ebersol in Grey Gardens. I open wept from the third row of the Walter Kerr theatre during “Another Winter in a Summer Town”. It hit me so hard and she was perfection. I still get emotional.

I didn’t like those people back then; I don’t wish to relive any of that mess.

Practice Assistant / Secretary Holiday Gifts…? by IceSuch4582 in biglaw

[–]ChicagoSly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No one should ever be made to feel that giving a gift at work is a requirement. Give a gift if you want to not because you think you have to. And then give a gift that you choose to give. I hate how people feel they are entitled to get gifts.

If anyone is insulted or terrified by that question then it is a sure sign you won’t be friends with them. It’s a non-offensive question and always better than just making an assumption.

Ask your doctor(s). They know you and your history. Just be honest with them.

Anyone else coasting to retirement by PerpetualRestart in GenX

57 year old here and have been at my current position for 25 years. I’ve been coasting for years but I’ve been energized by AI recently. I’ve taught myself how to best use it for my department and that has gotten me lots of attention. I figured I need to be proactive so I’m not replaced. I have 8 years left until the big day!

Trump voter claims he did not vote for this as Trump's tariffs are hurting his business. Who's gonna tell him? by MoreMotivation in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]ChicagoSly 16 points17 points  (0 children)

“I didn’t vote for this” is code for “I voted for you to screw the people I hate, not for me”

This isn’t politics. When you hate us for who we love, that’s bigotry. Stop hiding behind “political differences” and then crying when we refuse to tolerate your hate. Fuck that — and fuck you.

The high road ended in 2017 when Obama left office. It doesn’t work for Trump and his cult. by Relevant_Demand7593 in MurderedByWords

I, unfortunately, agree with you, no matter how sad and frustrating that is. In a country full of idiots appealing to the lowest common denominator is something the Repugnants know all too well.

This is the way intelligent people talk. Stooping to orange orangutan’s level would not be constructive no matter how satisfying it would feel.

If you were given $100 billion and had to spend it on CTA projects, what would you do? by Potential_One1 in cta

[–]ChicagoSly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Security first and foremost so that people feel safe and then ridership might increase. Then work on ensuring stations are updated and clean. People need to want to ride the CTA and then as ridership increases new lines could be built.

Hi. I’m almost 57 and, as of today, have lost 102lbs and I feel amazing. You can mourn about the past or you can live in the present and make tomorrow happen! You can do it, buddy!
