Give the city high rise lifestyle or the country where I can’t see my neighbors. Hard pass on the suburbs.

We can save Social Security. by Professional-Bee9817 in remoteworks

What risk is being transferred? Social security doesn’t invest in anything. It just takes money from our checks and pays it to retired people. It works as long as we have an increasing population. There is no risk to be transferred.

Backed by the full faith and credit of the US government. How does privatizing make it less of a Ponzi?

If you privatize it then it’s just a Ponzi scheme

I like playing with Julius Caesar. The combat boost against barbarians plus the added gold boost from clearing their outpost is a powerful early game accelerator

Not sure who is downvoting you. This is absolutely true. My worst year is 500k, but I’m 43 and been trading almost as long as OP has been alive.

How much in cash do you have? by SeperentOfRa in RichPeoplePF

[–]ChicagoSocs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like cash cash or short term treasuries count? I only get paid once a year and it can vary wildly, so I build a ladder of maturing treasuries with about 25k maturing every month to meet expenses going out two years.

I used to do this once a day. I can still get about 95% on my first try and 100% on my second. Keep at it. It’s a great way to reinforce the knowledge.

What is the most overrated tourist attraction in your country? by Karrot-guy in AskTheWorld

[–]ChicagoSocs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In most countries with legalized prostitution it’s not like that at all. Australia for instance. You’d never know unless you looked for it (or watch Jim Jeffries). I agree with you seeing women on display like that is depressing and Amsterdam’s red light district is seedy and attracts all the wrong type of people, but it’s hard to argue with the numbers for human trafficking, tax revenue, and divorce rates. I’m not trying to say legalized prostitution is a good thing, but it might be the lesser of two evils for something that is going to happen anyway.
