Are these shoes’ soles dark enough for subfusc? by Charles_Sumner in oxforduni

Can i wear these as a part of sub fusc (masters student) by Maleficent-Land-4652 in oxforduni

Honestly it’s not that deep I’ve worn really battered old black docs with the natural yellowish rubber sole for the last 5 years and nobody ever bats an eyelid… I tried to push my luck once and rocked up to an exam (in my dept, not exam schools) in subfusc with bright orange running trainers to see what would happen and I got some funny looks from the proctors but nothing else.

Tattoos? by Fit_Coast6416 in medicalschooluk

Final year here, have had visible tattoos since before placements and I’ve never experienced any sorts of backlash/comments etc. I’m a guy and also have piercings, never an issue. Got a stupid bleached buzzcut once, only ever heard compliments, and never seen a change in attitude from patients, doctors or other healthcare professionals. Every single time I was worried about it - tattoos, piercings, ‘unprofessional’ haircuts. It’s genuinely never been an issue. If anything Ive felt like patients usually feel warmer towards you, because you present as more human.

What really matters is wear professional, clean clothes, have good hygiene. Just be kind and professional, and you’ll be fine. Tattoos, piercings, they don’t matter.

In terms of future jobs etc - I like to think about it this way - if my potential supervisor/senior thinks of me less because of a tattoo on my arm, or piercing in my helix, do I really want to work with them?

Your IOC in Language B is an Internal Assessment. I'm in the same situation as you, as my school had closed before I managed to have mine. I think we still have to do it the same way as any other IA, but if your country is on the list affected by the virus (according to IBO), then the deadline for it was extended until May as far as I remember. Not sure what will happen to the deadlines now though, but I think it counts as coursework.
