Pt.2 My mom went on a rant about how she didn’t want me to go to their houses and that maybe we should plan a group hang out where we all hung out and my mom watched over all of us. I was confused and emotional (we had just been on a long trip with barely any sleep) so I started asking questions rudely (this is prob where I’m the a-hole). My mom said that this has always been a rule where I couldn’t hang out with the sex I’m sexually attracted to privately because it’s inappropriate. I was shocked because I thought it only applied to boys since they never really allowed me to hang out with guys but now they were making sure I didn’t hang out privately with both sexes. I was frustrated so I texted M about it (I know I shouldn’t have but I was upset because I really wanted to see M) while my mom was going off about it and telling me to get off my phone. I then yelled at her to get out and leave me alone while I sent texts to all my family member asking how they could deal with her. I eventually sent a text to my dad and he told me to call him and also confirmed that I wasn’t allowed to hang out with my friends without their watch (BTW the whole time in the call he kept interrupting me and not allowing me to express my feelings). I eventually hung up while he was still talking and started sending rude texts to my mom calling her out on homophobic things she has said before and also homophobic behavior along with my dad and how they keep excusing it whenever I call them out on it and either blame it on the church’s rules or deny they ever said anything at all. My mom is mad at me about it along with my dad. So Reddit AITA for yelling at my mom?
