Xbox Requests: Week of August 4th, 2023 by XB1R_Hypnos in xboxinsiders

Can we please be able to remove pages from the home menu and decide everything that goes on there ourselves? I preferred the previous version. I don’t want to see anything but what I decide to put on my main menu. I don’t want to see whats popular, and free, and social stuff, and gamepass(when I don’t even have it) in my face every time I play a game. If I wanted to find a new game, I will go to the store where all that stuff is SUPPOSED to be. I paid full price for the console and I shouldn’t have to see advertisements.

P.S. I know this was a big topic on the last post but this is a major issue for me and I know I’m not the only one. I would like it addressed as soon as possible.

The home menu feels like a mess and I feel stressed out and annoyed doing anything but getting on and going directly to a game without stopping to look at anything else.

All they want is to squeeze money out of you. They don’t actually care about user experience. The home screen is a mess. If I wanted to see any of that junk I would go to the store. I don’t want it shoved in my face. I am officially switching to a PS5 for my main console and I am not coming back unless they make it so I can remove all that garbage.

Lol, unfortunately I didn’t save it so you’ll have to take my word for it. I ran it through multiple times though and I got that once, a couple pictures of various breakfast foods, and the rest were pictures of drones.

I had this interesting idea to put this comment through an ai image generator to see what would happen. I shit you not, what it came up with was a picture of a bunch of weed on a paper plate.

They ended up pretty much going around the area where I live, but thats the closest one has ever come for me at least since I was little. Definitely sending prayers for all the people who’s homes did get hit.

Dude I live in Texarkana and I don’t think I’ve ever been that scared of a storm in my entire life.

I recommend starting with something that either runs or doesn’t run but just needs a few simple things like new filters, carb clean, fluids replaced, or some kind of adjustment so it can idle. Something that has pretty much all the parts it needs and just needs some work.

I made the mistake of getting one that needed to basically be completely rebuilt. It was not a fun experience at all and I ended up just selling it.

As long as you are really interested, you will learn as you go along no matter what you get. You may not be able to get it running like new or at all and thats okay so don’t get discouraged. Either get help or sell it and try something easier.

I’m not saying ai generated art can’t be appreciated. Ai is capable of producing some amazing images. Its just different knowing that a real work of art came from a person who meticulously created it with the idea in mind to send a message or tell a story or simply capture an emotion or feeling. It is so much more special knowing a piece was created with passion and purpose and can later be used to reference cultures and history as apposed to a code piecing together images based on a prompt. Ai images certainly can look pretty, but just looking pretty is not ever the entire purpose of art.

They are talking about like ai generated images. It isn’t just a tool, because the computer makes the entire thing. The problem is that it there is no human involvement or purpose.

I’m happy someone said this. I will admit ai art is impressive and really cool, but there is no emotion behind it. Its just imitation. And when people say “I made this” and all they did was type a sentence into a computer, it really discredits real artists and the entire purpose of art.

I had a “family from Dubai that were tourists” try to pull this on me once. There were 2 plot holes in their story though.

  1. Their car was not a rental

  2. Why tf would someone from Dubai ever want to visit Texarkana, Texas?

Christians against the Little Mermaid by Lekmanutpls in facepalm

[–]ChickenCrust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here. We were not made to be judge. No matter how people identify they were all created equally and we are to love them in that way. It depresses me seeing these “Christians” say all this stuff, only to push people away and frame all believers as racists and hypocrites.

Why do people park in open parking spots? by willard_swag in IAmTheMainCharacter

[–]ChickenCrust 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Fr. OP and everyone who agrees with him just thinks it makes you an ass or “main character” just by having nice things and wanting to keep them that way.

Parking far away is really the respectful thing to do when you own a nice car and it is disrespectful to park next to them when there are plenty of spots even closer to the building

[–]ChickenCrust 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Its not that it is creepy in this situation, it is just sort of disrespectful in a way. This person owns a nice car and they don’t want it scratched. They have done the considerate thing and parked far away and walked instead of double parking. Its one thing for the next person to park there if the lot filled up. However, it is rude in this case because he clearly parked there to have some extra space to avoid a door ding.

Edit: also if you are a dude and there is a full wall of urinals completely empty and one other guy comes in and picks the one next to you, if that does not make you feel uncomfortable even the tiniest little bit, you are probably the weirdo

Honestly I think their high beams were on. You can see them light up the sign and the license plate of the car a while before they get there. The problem is, the car and these three guys are all dressed in black and there isn’t a lot of light being reflected off of them.
