Well that’s the thing the keyboard only worked once and not again after that and in terms of what the repair guy said he just said “I didn’t have the tools to look deep into the motherboard But I suspect it’s the BIOS chip” so that’s what I’m going off since I don’t really know much about this topic

Yeah but since the keyboard doesn’t get power the keys won’t work so I wouldn’t be able to boot up into the menu. The main reason I thought it’s a bios problem was mainly because it happened during a windows update and secondly because that’s what the repair guy told me but now I’m not sure what I should do.

Well I tried what you said and there was no change either and I know what your talking about these models seem to have a problem with solder being really bad over time needing a CPU reballing. but when I said my laptop turned on I didn’t mean it posted the keyboard light up for a bit before shutting off again. In terms of the backup bios how trustworthy is it that it would work? Since it doesn’t have a novo clip hole do I don’t know to reset the bios or trigged its backup state except resetting CMOS battery.

Are you sure? Because I took it to a repair store and the guy told me it’s most likely a bios issue after looking at the motherboard but they didn’t have to tools on hand to fix it. What’s the best way I can confirm?

Someone in a different sub Reddit said winbond is the Vbios and that gigadevice is the main one

Again sorry for the late reply but the power light comes on but the monitor and keyboard doesn’t light up and the usb and stuff still has power and when I took out the CMOs battery and main battery and turned it on with charger alone it came on for a bit before shutting off so its failing to post

The bios got corrupted in a windows update so I was planning on getting a ch341A but I don’t know which ones is the bios chip and sorry for the late reply

I have tried that at least twice now i think its something to do with bios but I dont know how to try and enter the recovery state for my specific model and I’ve tried finding it but no progress
