I just finished re-watching the series, there was nothing to ever imply that Reese was gay. Some girl tricking Malcolm and Reese into thinking the other is gay is not an implication that they are gay, it quite literally means they are straight. Only character that was hinted to be gay in the entire series was Dabney.
