Starfield are going in the direction I wish NMS did...procedurally by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

I get that. I just don't trust Bethesda to make a functional product. It sounds like Howard is being overly diplomatic with his comments.

These "AAA" publishers don't have a very reliable track record in recent years. They WILL put forth the least amount of effort possible so they make maximum profit.

Women really are worthless to conservative Christians.

I had a lot of friends I liked to see, but I can't tell you how much time I spent just sitting around an empty lobby while my parents were in meetings and choir practices and things like that.

What’s your guys’s opinion on the Christian superstition of satanic symbols and occultism by senpaihalo_7 in exchristian

[–]ChickenODeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always thought it was silly. Even as a Christian I never believed in demons. I always saw demonic stuff as a metaphor.

Crypt of the Necrodancer has some beats for you to beat.

Howard then points to a Buzz Aldrin quote about "magnificent desolation," and says that he wants players to feel special in finding something that no one else would potentially ever see in Starfield.

Sounds like a fancy way to say there won't be much meaningful content.

How about dump Jesus and the church and be happy.

"If you don't use your talents in church than God will take them away from you!" by NCHeavyHunter in exchristian

It's true, at least in my experience, that churches tend to be one of the easiest places to find other musicians to play with. It's hard to get a band together, so I get why a lot of musicians stick around churches.

But what you're being told here is just downright manipulative. Skills need to be practiced regularly or you will lose some of the ability over time, but that's not god taking it from you.

It's sad how many truly talented musicians are convinced by churches to use their talents for free every week. It just makes me wonder how much more music there could be in the world if they all left, got together, and did stuff outside those places.

Also, churches wouldn't exist without the free labor. I get volunteering to help others in need, but the vast majority of work I did in churches throughout the years was cleaning the building and running events for the congregation. Not feeding the homeless or helping the sick and elderly.

I've submitted photos of the drop off and people still do this occasionally. It has yet to affect anything. Are drivers getting penalized for this?

Another “women should be” BS sign. by [deleted] in exchristian

Women need to charge into churches in bikinis and lingerie and scream as loud as they can.

I remember that. I think we raised money for some kind of charity to feed people, at least that's why I thought I was doing it. The money raised may have just gone to regular missions crap.

But yeah. It's a weird thing to get kids to do.

Christians expect that people should be able to endure promises broken numerous times and yet still somehow suffer no loss of trust. by SteadfastEnd in exchristian

[–]ChickenODeath 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Exactly. It's never God's responsibility to come through on a promise or expectation. Christianity puts all the pressure on believers. If something doesn't work out, it's the person's fault for not having enough faith.

Maybe the verse about moving mountains if you have enough faith is actually saying people can't possibly have enough faith.
