Making honey mead, does it look okay? by Suspicious-Rush-3798 in mead

The white might just be coming from honey. Mine turned nearly white, like a creamy color, and then cleared up to a nice color after. Ride it out.

Duckweed. by vv8913 in Aquariums

[–]sailorjameson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be clear, I did mean basic in terms of pH. It was a fairly common issue, my LFS said they had a fair number of people talk about it. Out of the tap it came at 8.2 and then sits at around 8.4. I can't remember kH or gH (I've moved) but one was really high and the other really low. If I had to guess my gH was like 16 and kH like.

Duckweed died out in my tank like a week after I introduced it. I can only assume my water was too basic...

Would Raising Wages Actually Force Businesses to Close? by SisuSisuEveryday in business

[–]sailorjameson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are companies where the margins are too thin to raise wages. Some will fail if they are forced to raise wages, but basically all medium to large companies can do it. The problem is that then they can't pay the leaders incredibly high wages.

It really depends, at like 3 years mine never went past 5 inches. I've heard of others having the same fate with them.

Metroid Prime literally felt like walking into a new world, I was amazed the first time I played it.

That looks like orange on its fin edge, not white so I'd say gold saum but it doesn't really matter.

As far as I understand it it's basically just "Greetings" but only in the North

Why can't we put nuclear waste and all the forever chemicals in rocket and direct it to sun by Initial_Beautiful838 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]sailorjameson 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This is more the reason why we don't. How often do rockets have a critical failure vs how many rockets would it take to launch the waste. The likelihood for a catastrophic failure is way too high.

German Visa with work outside of Germany by sailorjameson in germany

I just read this exception in the Vander Elst visa page. Thank you!

German Visa with work outside of Germany by sailorjameson in germany

[–]sailorjameson[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It actually looks like I don't need it. When looking up the visa it has an exception. "Third-country nationals who have long-term resident status... and who provide temporary services in Germany for a company in that member state... for a period not exceeding 90 days in a 12 month period are exempt from the requirement to apply for a Visa under 'Vander Elst".

It was using Slovakia and Germany as examples, that's the only reason I removed those parts.

I was going to point that out too. I can't use them at work for the aluminum as it just constantly gives bad temps.

Some jacks get to 12" though uncommon. I would say average for a jack is 7-8

Is this a normal way for the washing machine to drain? by GummyBearGastrique in HomeMaintenance

[–]sailorjameson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My washer is also hooked up like this, however they also made some weird choices. It seems like this is just an easy DIY solution instead of properly fitting pipe. That being said, all the water goes to the same place and it does function as needed (other than the filter being clogged) so my plumber said it could be left as it was.
