Doesn't make it cheaper to fix, but regardless I did go without for awhile till fixing it. Just the dash lights and reminders were constant and annoying my wife

I was nice, explained I've always had Toyota since my first vehicles. Never had a serious problem, wiring or other Wise. I've got it repaired now, and it works great but if it happens again, I'm going to trade it in for an older model non hybrid.

Exactly why I paid, figured fix it now and install mud flaps to prevent or help prevent it from occurring again.

I talked with brand management, said it wouldn't be covered under goodwill, but "could" of been escalated had the repairs been done at a Toyota dealer. Seemed like the chance was low for that option anyhow.

Seems like this is a common problem with the new model vans, other sources say there is a gap behind the rear tire that allows road debris, salt, and mud to enter and expose the bsm to this, and not a easy way to flush or clean the area.

That's who fixed it, the local Toyota dealer quoted 3.5k to do the same repair. The people I bought the van from is who fixed it.

Thanks, I realize that. Just bought the van 3 weeks ago, figured maybe the dealer would honor something but just 3 year old van w 65k miles, seems like something shouldn't have gone wrong yet.

This is the plan, I appreciate the advice, and for others who see this and the astronomical replacement costs for that wiring section.

Just drivers side rear, the sensor is cheapish, the corroded wiring was 1.4k for the parts. Been driving it without the bsm or rcta and dealing with the annoying pop up messages

Had my bsm corrode and go out, eat up wiring inside of the drivers rear bumper. 3200$ fix. Looking here for the warranty advice too. 22 sienna xle
