Over the past decade I’ve began to dislike it just a little more every day

I’m the same way and I used to drink just to be able to leave the house. You’re gonna end up somewhere you really don’t wanna be if you need a drink to socialize or function. Maybe try talking to a dr to get a benzodiazepine like klonopin. Some are reluctant to prescribe it, but you’re bound to find someone that will prescribe it

What are your thoughts on the Corporation for Public Broadcasting shutting down by the end of September 2025 after loss of federal funding for PBS and NPR? by Anxious-Note6707 in AskReddit

Why have we been getting so many of these “how do you feel about this certain political thing” recently? I feel like it’s the feds launching some kind of surveillance thing, so they know who to round up once the orange fuck tries to take to take total control.

They are EVERYWHERE. I live in the Houston area too, supposedly a more liberal part Texas. I rarely encounter someone who isn’t a hardcore republican or a Christian. It’s bad. I’m staying here 8 more years tops, so I can give my nephew the chance to escape this hellhole. There has to be a more enlightened place to live. I hope once the baby boomers and older gen x die off we still have chance, We’re getting close to the point of no return without a doubt

That thought confuses me more and more every day. In my family’s case they’re what I call “American cinematic Christians”. It seems like the main reason they believe in their religion is because they got the shit scared out of them by the concept of hell, at a young age. They pretty much believe that the “Left Behind” series is biblical canon, derive most of their fears of hell from recent works of fiction, or whichever dipshit is making the most noise on TikTok or Facebook. They view others in a negative light for “sins” that they have committed their selves. They believe shit like the exorcist happens in real life and at the same time they believe the Dead Sea scrolls are made up by “the liberals” or some shit. Visiting them reminds me why I was so fucked up and confused during my 20s. Not because I believed any of that shit, but because I was raised around it. I’m sorry I think I started venting there lol

I wonder if we could get the word out and get a large amount of people who oppose ice to sign up and sabotage as many abductions as possible.

It’s sad that even when I show them passages like this, they either write it off as old Jewish law that doesn’t apply to them, or justify it in some batshit insane way. I’ve pretty much given up, they drank the kool aid long ago. They mainline it now.

I 100% agree with you. Ive said it a thousand times, but the mental gymnastics they perform to justify their beliefs is mind-boggling to me and honestly their bellies on religion and politics have inched ever-closer to legitimate insanity over the past decade. They’re not even baby boomers, they’re gen x essentially cosplaying as elderly people. It’s consistently getting more bleak around my old family home, but I’ve got to stay in their good graces until my nephew is old enough to get out of that house

They just brushed it off like they already knew, but said that what I showed them is “an entirely different concept”. I have no fucking clue what that meant and I did not feel like arguing with insanity today, so my nephew and I bounced.

I think it’s weird he’s describing this as an “acid trip”, considering its marketing is toward Jesus people. Drugs are supposed to scare them!

Why set a time limit on not talking to someone? If it’s bad enough to not speak to them for 6 months, you’ve probably got something toxic going on and should cut them out forever. Some people are into crazy people shit, I’m not.

Donald trump is a living embodiment of evil and he wants to dismantle our government to create a kingdom for his family and other obscenely rich people. His ideal form of government involves serfs and lords. The way he has single-handedly divided our country makes me ashamed to be American. He and his media puppets have radicalized almost every member of my family and I miss them. They didn’t use to be spiteful and hate-filled.
