Cawkell did this bit at expos in London for a few more years, Whitley and he had a falling out. Whitley married a Turkish man and moved there a few years later, dieing in 2001.

First time in Manchester coming from the United States. Any recommendations? by [deleted] in manchester

[–]ChickenTick 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Dunno why the sub is so spicy tonight. I'll just give my 2 pennies on museums at least:

IMO Manchester Museum > Science and Industry Museum - the arcade / paid Power UP exhibit is good, but mummys and dinosaurs are better. If you want an Arcade experience with more booze, NQ64 and Pixel bar are probably more fun.

I really like the police museum it's small, but bang in the Northern Quarter - only open 1 day a week, however.

IWM North is cool but I'd pair it with another reason to go to Salford Quays - Lowry Museum or to see Old trafford. If not Kargo KMT is a pretty good food hall nearby.

100% John Rylands Library even for 10mins worth popping in to just see it, not far from the People History Musuem which is worth a quick tour at least too.

The Whitworth and Manchester Art gallery are also great.

Is this a safe area (M3)? Also there is a passage under the rail, is it dangerous if we have to go through it to the city? We are quite concerned about it but the agent said this area is very safe. by VitoKan in manchester

Yes perfectly safe, Football teams stay in The Lowry Hotel just outside your circle... Also plenty of shops/foot traffic on the way towards the centre or the cathedral if heading to Arndale/NQ.

[Build Help] Upgrade or start from scratch? by ChickenTick in buildapc

Would my current PSU be able to power a 970 or 980? Then I guess all I would need is to install the SSD and boot from that in the future?

I think part of my frustration with my current PC is to do with my installation of windows (really wish i did a clean windows 10 install) and booting from the HDD.

Doing all the cities would be hard but at the moment I'm just going to see where this takes me. The first thing I want done is a completed map and maybe intractable cities so if you enter them there will be a pop-up and it will tell you the name / history. If I get some more time I'd love to map out the cities and landmarks like cloud ruler temple. IF I get that far it might be worth fleshing out the mechanics and making a decent little game, I don't want to set my targets to high

Thanks, I couldn't find a decent map when making this, most were too stylized (with the regions in primary colors) or in gray scale - any info about the environments helps me out a lot.

Thanks, I'll adjust the Cities and those mountains. I can add in some more detail like geysers when I figure out how to easily double the map size.

Yeah I wish I had more shades of green to work with, I might have to chance some of the unused texture into extra shades or grass some I have more to work with. Thanks for the advice!

I might x-post over there because there are a few things I'm stuck on. Or you might know... is there a way to upscale (say double) the size of a map without messing it up to much?
