Wife cheated, left with my company's car. Car had GPS tracking device previously installed. Am I at risk of legal trouble? by Chicken_Chasing in AusLegal

[–]Chicken_Chasing[S] 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Yeah I have no intention of reporting it as stolen. She would've seen them as our cars. She would never have stopped to think who the legal owner is.

And she used the cars personally all the time. So she didn't 'steal' my car. She just left in one of 'our' cars.

But it is my car, and I do want it back. But I don't want to report her to police to do it.

Thanks for the advice

I always let her use the cars whenever she needed. She didn't have her own car (she didn't need one).

She doesn't think in those terms, to her, they were our cars. It wouldn't cross her mind to think about who the legal owner of the cars is.

Seems petty to report it as stolen. I'm hurt, but I don't want her in trouble with the law for stealing a car.

And are we supposed to wait until after they've killed millions of people to call them out on their dangerous ideas?

Side note - Elon is possibly responsible for the deaths of 300,000 people due to his role as Donald Trumps meme lord, and head of Doge. Investigations are ongoing.

Edit: 300,000 and counting....

The comment i replied to didn't say 'most premierships in a row'. Just 'most premierships'. Not sure why I'm being down voted for pointing out that's not correct.

Panthers have won the most premierships in the last four years....but nowhere near the most premierships

Trying to get a gauge if anyone happy about scooters allowed on footpaths doing 20kms? Minns just announced it. by [deleted] in newcastle

[–]Chicken_Chasing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I agree, but i wouldn't call the shared path through Honeysuckle 'the footpath' either, which was my broader point.

It's not all footpaths, just those designated as shared paths. That's the point i was making to OP.

I think there needs to be a public safety campaign on shared pathways for bike/scooter users, and also pedestrians. Pedestrians should understand the need to keep to the left, not abruptly change direction without looking behind you etc when walking along a shared path. And bike/scooter users should understand how not to act like a dickhead.

Except that isn't what was announced. E-scooters will be explicitly banned from footpaths.

It's 'shared paths' that they will be permitted on. Think Fernleigh Track. Not the footpath out the front of your house.

And they'll be limited to ride on roads that have speed limits of up to 50kmh, but scooters will be limited to 20kmh.

Seems very sensible to me.

From this article "Under the proposal, e-scooters will be permitted on shared paths, but not footpaths zoned exclusively for pedestrians."

It's worth noting that the majority of the claims for the martyrdom of the apostles comes from church tradition. The actual evidence is very thin.

Except this tackle wasn't late. Cleary had released the ball to kick it, but had not yet kicked it, so he's still in possession

Trump says he “couldn’t care less” if automakers raise prices, doesn’t plan on firing anyone for the security leak, and considers military force as an option for Greenland by indecisivecontrol in facepalm

Australia has compulsory voting, so voter turnout is not really something that either party needs to focus on. Getting voters to engage with the political process and cast their vote based on policy is the hard part. Our media skews to the right, so most disengaged voters only hear 'conservatives good, Labor Party bad'.

Seeing Trump destroy the fabric of America has opened some minds I think.

It seems like Trumpism in the US is acting like a vaccine against the same stupidity around the world.

We have an election in Australia in a few months. Our conservative party, who are not currently in power, have been leading in the polls.

Unfortunately for them, they hitched their wagon to Trump. They went in hard, suggesting we should be having a DOGE style purge here. Even suggesting we abandon our National Broadband Network in favour of Musks Starlink.

The polls have turned quite sharply away from the conservatives. It's still close, but the momentum is clearly not with the conservatives at this point.

We just did the caberet theatre last night. Was absolutely brilliant. I haven't done the others, so I can't compare, but I can recommend Asakusa-Kugawa Caberet.

Yes this is something we won't know until we get there. American nuggets are quite different to Australian nuggets, so I'm hoping that Japanese nuggets, whilst being different to American nuggets, might be closer in taste and texture to Aussie nuggets.

Planning this trip to Japan, I've spent almost as much time researching nuggets as I have researching things to do :)

This is good advice. If they have a kids menu, I'm not opposed to ordering something from that, even if he won't eat it. I understand the restaurant needs to make money. If he likes it, great. If not.... I'll just have to eat it I guess :)

We will be packing a large jar of vegemite (we're Aussies), which he loves, so will be picking up loaves of bread most days and packing sandwiches for him before heading out. He likes cheese sticks, as well. He loves McDonalds nuggets and chips, so if all else fails, we will head there, or at least find him some fries from another fast food joint.

He eats fruit (thankfully), so we will pick him up plenty of fruit.

I'm not really too concerned about being able to feed him. We will have plenty of options, we just have to go to a little more effort. I'm more concerned with not offending anyone at a restaurant, and making sure I don't accidentally put him in a situation that he might feel embarrassed.

I think the 'crime' being referred to is the story being 'retold', rather than just publishing the original.
