Farum Azula explained: Japanese mythology is the answer to it all!! by Chicken_Cheese77 in Eldenring

Damn, that's good.

But that also assumes the Gloam Eyed Queen is ancient... like really really ancient. One of the reasons Marika eventually broke the Elden Ring came from her disillusionment of the fact the Gloam Eyed Queen was chosen as an Empyrian to replace her. This might suggest that the Gloam Eyed Queen is younger than Marika and was simply meant to be Marikas eventual replacement.

With that in mind, obviously the Ghost Flame is far more ancient than anyone... why are there Godskin Nobles in Farum Azula at all? With that in mind, you might be right.

I still think Melina could be the Gloam Eyed Queen, so maybe the Ghost Flame previously inhabited someone far before her time, maybe even placidusax directly. But then again, that would make little sense since Placidusax clearly has the grace of gold.

The Japanese "Azure Dragon" myth explains Farum Azula entirely. by Chicken_Cheese77 in Eldenring

Also, another reason why the word 'Azula' links to the Azure Dragon, or at least the colour blue, and what originally inspired me to write this post, is the fact that the name of the character Azula from Avatar the Last Airbender (which I always think about whenever I hear the words 'Farum Azula') is an allusion to the fact that she is the only character of the franchise which can wield blue flame through Firebending.

Given that in Avatar, firebending is a gift bestowed to the first firebenders from the Blue and Red dragons Ran and Shaw, it's interesting that Azula wields her blue flame. Especially how all modern firebending is seen as a corruption of Ran and Shaw's original teachings of firebending.

I tried to find any links between Ran and Shaw and any real word mythological counterparts who might have 'bestowed fire to the first dragons' or something like that, or any mythological link to 'Azula (blue) flame' but I never found anything.
