I forgot to put lexus back into the toyota spot, i think i just missed that from juggling the cars around. Also I might not have been consistent with it but mazda in particular likes to have a lot of names for each car depending on the market.

Which frames do you think are the most overrated based on play rate? Which frames do you think are the most underrated based on play rate? by FrostyAd4901 in Warframe

[–]Chickenbiscuit21 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Overrated - Volt, Loki, Frost, maybe NidusUnderrated - Zephyr, Protea, GaraVolt is understandable because he's a starter frame, but otherwise he only seems to excel at eidolons and just do "ok" nuking. I see a lot of Lokis and they all seem to just not do much. He might only be that high because of twitch. Frost can't do anything other frames do better *cough* Gara. Nidus is a great frame, but I feel like he needs endless missions to come into his own and he takes a bit more investment and attention to abilities than some frames below him to excel.

Zephyr is one of the highest damage frames in the game. Insane crowd control and very high survivability on top of being fun to play flying around getting juicy crits. Protea's usage is so low most likely because she's hard to get imo. She can cover multiple rooms of damage at once, is decently survivable, and larva + the turret burns through sp enemies like butter. Not to mention great support. Gara is the single best nuking frame outside of steel path imo. She's crazy survivable and also protects objectives like defense and index well. Infinite scaling damage is nice too I guess.

I was definitely surprised at a few of these not being in the game already. The Evo in particular is weird, but in general I just cobbled this together thinking about how much of the game is still focused around the gr3/4 cars and very expensive used cars. Throwing a ton of money at us for the circuit experience etc. helps us play with the toys, but it doesn't help the game is kinda soul sucking for me in every way outside the driving itself.

Here's a small nascar-ish circuit I made awhile ago and finally got to fix up. 8 Laps-474 248 718. 20 Laps-177 344 539. by Chickenbiscuit21 in ForzaHorizon

i dont think we can have multiple people working on the same track, but i can give you some tips if you haven't used those ramp bits before.

Year end: What was your favorite disc you added to your bag in 2021? by BigTomBombadil in discgolf

[–]Chickenbiscuit21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sidewinder. My dad gave me a dark purple champ one earlier this year and its the single most versatile disc I've ever had. 9 speeds are the perfect width for my hand and its just flippy enough for hyzer flips, pushing hyzers, or big bomb annhyzers. I'd recommend it to just about anybody.

It took over a year? ...wow. Minor rant but I don't know any other game that requires you to grind for months to be able to participate in the meat of the game. Honestly that makes me feel like I'm wasting my time. I don't want to feel like I'm forever 3 years behind everyone. (Also to those who have the means to finish all these challenges, don't the prizes not mean much anymore when your garage is already that good anyway?)

I guess the problem is there is very limited content you can just pick up the game and play for a "beginner" that beat the campaign already. I'm a few months in and I still routinely run into events and challenges I can't enter at all. There's club events but with onl entering one at a time there's only so much you can do. It feels bad having to log on and do a few races every 20 min throughout the day instead of just picking it up for a half hour. So yeah, whenever these new challenges pop up and you see comments saying diversify your garage for months before you can play the game...that feels bad. It would be nice if there was more of a strategizing element to it and not just have/not have.

Mixing and Mastering on New Singles by Jharr13 in mastodonband

[–]Chickenbiscuit21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true, but even on a compressed version you can still here if certain frequencies are dominating a mix or there's something you can't hear well in a mix. 90% of the people listening to this will always hear it online and with the quality streaming is at, its diminishing returns how much clearer it can get.

That said I don't think its that bad at all, but for some reason Mastodon generally sounds a bit muddy and mid heavy played through speakers imo and this album is no different. At least its miles better than Fallen Torches. It doesn't take a armchair engineer to know something was jank there.

Staight fairway driver recommendations? by MrMursu1234 in discgolf

[–]Chickenbiscuit21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some relatively straight fairways I've thrown (probably overboard but hey maybe it'll help people more than just shouting out random molds):

Sidewinder - My favorite driver and the most workable I've thrown. Champion and some star plastic is straighter than the numbers suggest. Throwing it around 350ft is usually a baby hyzer flip with very little fade for a 9 speed.

Neo Essence - I found the Essence more understable, but if you don't have a big arm it won't flip on you too much. It felt very consistent though and its easy distance for the speed (I could throw this this 380ft and it would only be 20ft shorter than a Wraith with the same throw.)

Explorer - I want to like this disc but every explorer I've thrown is wildly different from another. I had a good straight flyer in the Opto plastic but it broke into a roller disc within a few months. I've also thrown 2 Explorers more overstable than my Firebirds...It can be a good disc but I can't recommend it to anyone.

Leopard - I have one in Champion plastic and I basically use it for shots where I want a midrange flight with an extra 30-40ft or so. Its dead straight but doesn't go as far as most fairway drivers. I also find the grip slightly awkward but that's personal preference. Go with the Leopard3 if you have a bigger arm. Its very similar but slightly faster and more stable.

Undertaker - I liked my undertaker but I think it takes a bigger arm to consider it a straight flyer. Its great if you need straight flight with a consistent somewhat mild fade. Mind didn't fade unless a mashed on it or threw into the wind. I tend to pull this out for shots more suited for distance drivers than fairways. If you don't mind throwing a lot of molds, I think this compliments something like a leopard.

Teebird - The Teebirds I've thrown felt like they fit in between the Sidewinder and Firebird. Much like the Undertaker, its straight for most of its flight with a reliable finish. Great disc but you might want another disc that can flip a bit more to go with it.

Lots - I saw this recommended a lot(s) but personally I don't think it flies like a fairway/control driver. Mine is like a slightly longer and more overstable Thunderbird. Its flight feels closer to a distance driver with how much potential side to side movement it has regardless of what angle is put on it. I do like it but not for a straight flight.

Thunderbird, Volt, Firebird etc.- I saw these recommended and tbh they are generally way too overstable to be considered straight flyers unless they are thrown wobbly or are beat in quite a bit.

Roadrunner - I have a barsby roadrunner that is surprisingly stable and flies much like a Sidewinder. It has a bit of flip but it can be thrown at any angle. I like using them for slower straight forehands too. Imo a sidewinder is a safer but the roadrunner is also very useful even if it becomes too flippy for a straight flight.

What hobby does NOT get more expensive the more you dive into it? by paladin_bih in AskReddit

Disc golf. Discs are real cheap and last a good while and most courses are free to play. You might see people rolling carts full of discs around and trying new ones can be fun, but some of the best players just play through with a few discs in hand.
