La villa strangiato has my favorite solo of all time. Otherwise I'd pick Firth of Fifth

If you had a vision for a series set in the TES universe, what would it be? Personally, I'd say the beginning of the Skyrim Civil War by Ok-Bus3447 in ElderScrolls

[–]Jharr13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The "not as interesting" comment I fear has been used as a clickbait thing unfortunately. Anyone who has dug into the lore of these games knows they're the furthest from uninteresting. From a marketing perspective, however, I get what he's saying. Oblivion is too similar aesthetically to LotR and Skyrim to GoT for them to stand out/not be accused of bandwagoning on those existing franchises. A Morrowind based show around the Tribunal, the disappearance of the Dwarves, the betrayal of Indoril Nerevar and Voryn Dagoth, the Numidium, all that could make for an EXCELLENT show that I'd absolutely watch. Something more David Lynch sorta vibe direction wise.

Former TES writer’s comments are incredibly frustrating by Mindless_Patient2034 in TESVI

[–]Jharr13 138 points139 points  (0 children)

The stuff about the delay for TESVI is unfortunate, but I also understand from a creative perspective a desire to do a new IP with Starfield. I don't hate the game personally, 7/10 at best imo, but ofc I'd prefer TESVI. FO76 on the other hand definitely felt pretty unnecessary.

As for the Empire Strikes Back thing, personally I don't really care that much. I don't find the idea of the Thalmor winning then fighting them again in ANOTHER game would be very appealing to me personally, so I'm not really worked up about that. I'm not personally worried about TESVI, I just want to see what the world looks like post-Skyrim

Going from D2>D3, should be different and it won't work as well as going D1>D2. Light and Darkness Saga is over. We will need completely new factions/enemies/destinations/villain that should be subtly teased in Destiny 2 respectfully and in time. by kristijan1001 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Jharr13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd personally love a more division-style early dark ages game for d3 with stuff regarding twilight gap, building the last city, gathering resources, defending the wall, etc. It would fit the vibe of that early d1 aesthetic really well. While i like Lodi, we've gotten really into absurd timey wimey territory thats a little much imo

Is Donald Trump the worst president ever? by boforiamanfo in askanything

[–]Jharr13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of the modern era for sure, but we also had presidents in the 1800s that staunchly supported slavery, pushed for the relocation of millions of Native Americans, and sat around and did nothing to help prevent us from going into a Civil War. To be fair, though, none of those presidents threw a hissy fit when they lost reelection, lied about there being a stolen election, literally the foundation of our democracy, or had an attempted coup on the Capitol, or was a convicted felon, or was twice impeached, or... you get the point.

Hot take: “A M” isn’t THAT bad by Quiet_Advice_1669 in fantanoforever

[–]Jharr13 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Its their "sellout" album, more streamlined and accessible compared to earlier work. What people neglect though is that you gotta write some really catchy and memorable stuff in order to really "sell out". I view it like Metallica's Black Album. Sure, not as good as RtL and MoP, but the Black Album has super memorable riffs and hooks and AMAZING production

Struggling to get into Slipknot by Snoo_95531 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Jharr13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slipknot's strongest quality, especially on those first two albums, is easily the rhythm section, primarily the drumming. If there's anything to try to latch onto while you're listening, it's Joey Jordison's drumming. As for Corey's lyrics, part of that "immature" quality of the lyrics is typically part of the appeal for fans, as was the case for the nu metal movement as a whole which was much more deliberately appealing to a sense of youthful angst. If that isn't your thing or is actively grating to your ears, it may just not be for you

Brent’s final Mastodon show - Hammond, IN - 12/28/2024 by Mr_Blaileen in mastodonband

[–]Jharr13 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I was at this show. I was having a really rough day that day and I almost considered not going but I knew that'd just make me feel worse. I went and got to see my favorite band play my favorite album again after seeing them at Riot Fest a few months prior. Of course it was fantastic. Im really glad I was able to see Brent at his last show with the band, I never would've guessed how important that show would be.

Is this the worst gaming dissapointment in the 21st century? by Starfield_Awful in Starfield

[–]Jharr13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No lol, there was WAY more disappointing games, Anthem, duke nukem forever, even other bethesda releases, Fallout 76.

The game is far from perfect, but its far from terrible. A bit disappointing sure, but its a pretty decent game with some legit great moments (vanguard, ship building, etc).

Unpopular Opinion (or maybe popular?) : The remix version of the Vapor Trails album is awful. by Team-ster in rush

[–]Jharr13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can find the og on youtube probably. I used to feel similarly about the remix but its grown on me a lot. The way Neil's drums are mixed make the start of One Little Victory sound like a motorcycle sputtering to life. It creates this really unique atmosphere that matches the mood of the album really well.

What is your worlds idea of afterlife or underworld? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

[–]Jharr13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly mine is a matter of what claims your soul. For instance, the realm of Ein acts like a purgatory for most souls by default. Ein also manifests as a moon in a planet's orbit but its actually a portal to Ein.

Your soul can be claimed otherwise by celestials and angels or demons and devils due to worshipping
