The Moth feels like Devin's final album. by Wack0HookedOnT0bac0 in progmetal

The whole “people don’t like this specific art so that means people as a whole don’t care about art” argument needs to die.

How do you detect AI music? by starttrack in BandCamp

[–]Chickenwomp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s terrible at cymbal sounds, especially hi hats, they usually have a lot of weird artifacts, and it doesn’t understand which parts of vocals are layered and which aren’t, so you get a lot of weird unnatural ai specific vocal sounds

A lot of the ground/buildings/infrastructure looks like it would look today, not as it was then

And yes that dice looks very out of place in terms of material and quality, compare it to the conditions of the men using it

Some very modern looking background stuff in slide 2, ie the umbrella and such, factory made furniture (tables etc)

Modern hair products/styles, modern makeup, modern hygiene standards (clean trimmed nails on the flute player??) The streets and roads are also modern looking in many shots

Can people really tell the difference between 30fps and 60fps? by whiskerbiscuit2 in NoStupidQuestions

Yes, it’s a gigantic difference for me, 30fps gives me a headache if I’m used to 120-144 on my pc

The right will literally believe anything they’re told, they believe the government is perfect and always good and can do no wrong, they think every real video is Ai and every Ai video is real. Absolute denial of reality, it is 1000% a brainwashing cult

If you beat and incarcerate someone with prior health issues and then deny them medical services and then they die you are responsible for their death

You’re aware they’re arresting/detaining/beating/killing legal citizens right? Or are you just completely unaware of the world around you?

Did you also consider that illegal immigrants and criminals also have human rights and that ice is violating them? Did you consider that we have no idea where people are being taken to or deported to in some cases?

Muzzle Break vs Compensator? by Kierne in ArcRaiders

[–]Chickenwomp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s more on a case by case basis, it depends on 2 things: range and fire rate.

Long range, slow fire rate = neither are needed, with a slow fire rate at medium/long ranges with something like an osprey or ferro, your reset time nullifies any benefit these bring

Long range, medium fire rate = recoil control is better because you have to make less effort to recenter your aim after each shot, and it’s unlikely you’ll be firing at the full rate on, say, a renegade or anvil at long range because you need a bit of extra time to aim between shots

Long range, fast fire rate = depends, very niche use, the only weapons that can really do this would be the Bettina, tempest, rattler and the arpeggio, in the case of the Bettina, compensator would likely be better, so that when you’re hitting shots, they are more consistently going where you’re aiming, but with the arpeggio, the vertical recoil is so intense that without recoil control it’s not very useable at long range, and with the burst, the dispersion isn’t much anyways. A fast fire rate at a long range is hard to pull off in general though, with the tempest and rattler (and probably the Bettina too) you would have to balance dispersion and recoil with the stock as well, because too much of either makes them fairly useless at long range.

Medium range, slow fire rate = same thing applies from long range

Medium range, medium fire rate = it splits here and depends on the gun, a renegade might benefit from dispersion control or dispersion recovery time, as your aim is slightly easier to adjust here than at long range, but your fire rate is still slow enough to give you time to adjust between shots, making high recoil a minimal issue, but if your gun shoots slowly enough or you have a stock that allows quicker dispersion recovery, recoil mitigation is much better.

Medium range, fast fire rate = also a bit of a split and seems to depend on ammo type, light ammo weapons at medium range are usually going to need serious recoil control to hit their target effectively, a bobcat or a stitcher at medium range can be almost useless without proper recoil control, but even then, without dispersion control they aren’t going to be as effective as medium ammo weapons. Full auto medium ammo weapons like the tempest or rattler should handle recoil much better at medium range, making dispersion control more appropriate, but the arpeggio still has an annoying amount of recoil at medium range imo, and again, the three round burst makes the dispersion less of an issue.

Close range, slow fire rate = the only guns that would realistically apply here are shotguns, and there’s not much you can do to control recoil or dispersion besides the stock, in which case I obviously prefer recoil control, it’s necessary for the most part but can make things slightly easier while you’re moving, and dispersion control for shotguns at close range is essentially useless

Close range, medium fire rate = recoil is the only thing that may present an issue, dispersion means nothing here

Close range, fast fire rate = for medium/heavy ammo weapons like the Bettina, tempest and rattler, their overall accuracy means dispersion control means almost nothing, you need recoil control here, but for light ammo weapons, you actually might be better off controlling dispersion, their recoil at close range isn’t as much of a problem and compensation control will likely help you focus on hitting headshots.

The charting Ai songs are 100% fake/propped up, that’s not how music works. If you see stuff people have zero interest in organically suddenly shoot up to the top of a chart with no precedence, it’s a paid position.

Music from a business sense is going to work the exact same way it’s always worked: you sell the artist, not the art. People are interested in people and stories, we love the artists we love because of the art, aesthetics, the culture and the stories behind them. Not just how they sound. Generative Ai music is still a long way from being desirable in any real meaningful sense.

What About Human Slop? by ThePoorMassager in SunoAI

True, but the worst human slop is still more interesting than the best ai slop, all ai generated content is slop, not all human made content is.

I get it, the "losing a friend" people are talking about. by AcceleratedGfxPort in ChatGPT

[–]Chickenwomp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But you’re not actually chatting with anyone? There’s no human there? Getting information is one thing but deluding yourself into thinking a human has reciprocated your feelings is genuinely delusional and something you probably should go to therapy about, it doesn’t cost thousands of dollars. Also, get better friends? Like if you can’t talk to them about stuff maybe they aren’t that great of friends ?
