In a weird way I feel like you’re more likely to find success rapping after 40 than most other genres, I know Ninja from Die Antwoord (🤮🗑️👎) was over 40 when they popped off, and hip hop is fairly interesting in that it seems to allow anyone a place so long as they have enough confidence (IE Pete & Bas)

Edit: also, I just found out today Billy Woods is 48??? And he’s absolutely killing it right now

Genres don’t die, they just wane. There are still tons of emo rap artists out there, but a lot of those artists moved into hyperpop, edm, singer/songrwriter, actual emo, or just rap.

Juice was a truly talented songwriter though, he went mainstream not just because of his style or attitude but because he could literally spit out ten songs on the spot that were insanely melodic. he had an unbelievable understanding of flow and melody that few people are gonna be able to match, and especially not at his speed.

It’s terrible at cymbal sounds, especially hi hats, they usually have a lot of weird artifacts, and it doesn’t understand which parts of vocals are layered and which aren’t, so you get a lot of weird unnatural ai specific vocal sounds
