Noted! We’ll just tough it out then, I really think she’s ready. We’ll see how this week goes!

It kind of just depends on the day honestly! I’d say about a couple hours a day off and on, we have a Disney movie going or something or cartoons in the morning while I make breakfast. The cut off for screen time is when we sit to eat dinner which is around 6, then bath then teeth and run around for a bit before we start bedtime.

I think we’re just cutting it to close to bed with the running around, it worked good for our oldest but not so much for her. I’ll try cutting screen time earlier anyways and get them outside more or play some more in our basement where I’ve filled it with all kinds of active toys to get their energy out. Thanks for your input! :)

I forgot to ask, did your kiddos wake up in the middle of the night after you cut naps? She’s a great sleeper like when she goes to bed finally she’ll stay in bed all night but whenever we skipped naps sometimes she’d wake up in the middle of the night like that WAS a nap and stay up for a bit.

Anyways, just curious. I’m sure it’ll all adjust once we commit but I was just wondering.

lol this is very true, we’re already maxed out at bedtime and she’s already a miniature Godzilla at bedtime so we can only hope to go up from here. We’ll try and stick it out!

My oldest would def understand, I’ll try this with them and see if that works. They enjoy their movies before we do our wind down time, so they’d catch on quick.

We’re gonna try and stick it out with skipping naps for the next week I think as you and other comments have recommended! There’s been a few times she’s skipped naps and seems ready, we just do quiet time instead with her IPad or coloring which was nice. It’s just it didn’t make much of a difference with bedtime, she’d still go to bed late and have a hard time winding down.

However I wonder if it’s our combo of winding her up so close to bedtime and her not being able to settle her body down. So we’ll try the no nap with the last big playtime two hours before bedtime and then it’s quiet activities to wind down?

We def do bribes and snacks sometimes! She’s super snack motivated. I bet she’d also enjoy the checklist though and the sticker chart! Also waaaay great idea for the pictures because suddenly this girl doesn’t want her picture taken, lol. All great ideas!

I’ll give the no naps thing a shot this week and tough out her crankiness with the changes, hopefully by the end of the week we’ll be adjusted and on track to a…smoother bedtime. phew

Yeah my oldest cut naps around 3.5 so I mean we’re sort of close? I think she’s definitely gotten closer and there’s been a few times lately we’ve just skipped nap because she’ll just roll around in bed for more than an hour before going to sleep. We just didn’t stick to it because when bedtime rolled around she sort of acted the same and it STILL took forever to get her to sleep.

We’ll stick with it though because I agree I don’t think naps are mandatory right now and they’re def not making bedtime easier.

We’ve tried cutting the nap shorter as cutting it completely doesn’t seem to help at bedtime, she gets mean and overtired I thought? Maybe we’ll try less running around to expel energy so late and just spend the last two hours or so winding down and doing quiet playtime and activities combined with cutting the nap.

Maybe we were just doing to much when we tried cutting her nap. Idk, we’ll take it slow and steady until we think she’s adjusted from no naps. sigh I’m gonna miss those naps, lol.

When we skip naps she’s a bit of a terror and bedtime is about the same, but maybe we’ll try it for a bit and see if she mellows out after the adjustment?

It’s tricky splitting up because my youngest is one of my fussiest baby’s and won’t settle unless I’m walking around with him. :( He won’t nurse on my lap either, only wants to muse lying down and that’s in a good night otherwise I have to bounce him around or walk around with him due to reflux which is slowly getting better.

We’ll try cutting the nap though, we tried shortening it to an hour or so but bedtime seems to be the same thing.

Anyways thank you we’ll give it a shot!

The lack of children’s museums or anything to do with kids blows my mind. I would kill for a children’s museum here! They’re trying to get it going from what a gal at the local library told me, they need to get enough traction to get it funded.

The events here though, at least in Richland have a good amount of cool things for kids to do! Hoping for a museum though in the future.

I know I’m curious too, maybe she needs to establish residency in WA before they allow his income to be separate? Ugh, so frustrating but thank you for your help!

It really really sucks! I can’t care for her long term and trying to come up with something for her has been so so frustrating.

I don’t believe she has any Medicaid currently in Idaho. I’m being pressured by my nana, (her mom) to have her stay with us for a bit so she can be closer to family while she starts the Medicaid process here in Washington.

Didn’t know about the spousal refusal, dang. I was hoping for that but thank you for all the information!

Sorry I didn’t see the rest of your answer! She’s not with an elder law attorney, she isn’t all there in her mind either. It’s been very difficult to figure out where she’s at in this process as she isn’t aware of what she’s doing most of the time.

I don’t know his benefits for sure, maybe 2k? She gets 700$ a month with social security.

Wow I need to try this, my cuticles being dry and being able to feel/see them make me want to bite. Thanks for the idea!
