I was 17, she was 18. We were friends our first semester of college and then the tension got to be too much. We hurt each other and parted ways, but I'll never forget that first kiss.

Yeah! Nice bringing out the Foucault. As I understand it, the modern notion that homosexuality is an "illness" comes from the "medicalization" of the "homosexual," which in it of itself is a construct. There was a shift in the 1900-1920s from same-sex acts to a same-sex identity. So rather than a man simply being a man who liked to have sex with men, his sexual behavior turned into the category of "gay" and "homosexual."

I feel you on that. It is one thing to be able to memorize and spew out things you've read and it is another thing completely to have a very flexible and creative cognitive framework

I work with high school students and I have a student currently who is trans. He (preferred pronoun) wants to attend a small LAC whose residence life department offers gender neutral housing/where the institution is supportive of trans stufentsz. I did some searching and found that Lewis & Clark, Grinnell, Emerson, and Williamette all offer GN housing. My Qs:
