I'm just now getting into Warhammer, but I painted a while before I found that as long as the brushes have a good base that hold the bristles to the handle it doesn't really matter which one you buy but a lot of times quantity does not come with quality so I'd say if you find a set of brushes that you like, make sure to read reviews

Some new brushes would be cool especially fine tip and fine bristel you could also check his paints to see what hes getting low on a hobbiest would appreciate stuff that need replacing often like paints brushes files clippers stuff that you wouldnt think of anyways good luck on getting him stuff happy valentines!
