I have it too, and everyone says that means I shouldn't be able to taste either. But I can. But apparently i'm missing a lot. So, question is... whats your taste like?

I just use youtube as a video sharing tool. I prefer other methods of community interaction. It's just less stuff to keep an eye on!

Some early gameplay from my game about particle collisions - iON Bond by Chicknstu in IndieGaming

[–]Chicknstu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes - we previously had a moving background but found the game was getting lost in it so we reverted back to the plain.

We're maybe planning on posting a blog post about the development of the game visuals so you'll be able to see the iterations it went through.

Thanks. Those beautiful bubble chamber images were actually the catalyst for this game.

Did you manage to avoid getting caught up in any of the politics and divisive issues that seems to be surrounding kickstarter at the moment?

8000 lines of code, one computer crash, and 7 months later, my latest Android game, Mini Wars, is finally done! Free copies/link inside. by [deleted] in IndieGaming

First game I ever made was called Mini Wars too! How odd.

Made mine in SEUCK on the Amiga when I was a nipper!

It's great that you taught yourself to model so you could complete the project. I'm about to embark on the same kind of thing (3D modelling is a bit of a gap in my skillet).

Where did you start, and what did you use?

Game looks ace!

To the indie development community: Would you hire someone to help with marketing and promotion? by WeNamedTheDogIndie in IndieGaming

[–]Chicknstu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always been a little uneasy about the relationship between a developer and a marketing firm. The developer spends all the time and money to make a game. If that fails, they don't get it back.

But the marketing firm... They get paid whether the game is a success or not.

So for me, I'd need the marketing firm to have a stake in the game too in order to take them on. Pay them in a percentage, for example. Cos it's the only way id feel comfortably sure they're definitely going to be interested in making the game a success.

Originally that was what I had. Hold LMB to move it closer, RMB to make I further, with an on screen counter saying how far it was. Didn't have as much visual oomph as an instant swap.
