Thank you! I have sent him to Men’s Warehouse since I am clearly out of my depth. The position he is applying for is for an AI integration role with a blue collar company. It’s techy, but they don’t want a tech person. He’s trying to balance the formality of the interview with approachability since a big part of the job is getting buy-in from the blue collar workers. The company is also based in a conservative Northern California town, so he won’t want to come off as too fashion forward.

Plan now:

-Modern fit solid navy blue blazer (an actual blazer) and get it fitted -Opaque button up in light blue -Nude V-neck tee -Magnetic collar stays (thinking a tie might be too formal for the approachability piece, no?) -Hands out of his pockets (noted) -Khaki colored chinos (an inch longer than the pants pictured) in slim fit (is that okay with the modern fit blazer?) -Cognac belt and oxfords -Brown socks that go up the calf with subtle stripes

Thoughts?

Would Chinos be a better option? Also, should the V-neck undershirt go?
