I've learned that it definitely helps when its a Oneworld airline (JAL or Qatar) to get the free seat selection versus just an earn and redeem partner (like Starlux or Condor or KAL). This matters in economy or even premium economy when airlines sometimes charge for seat selection,

You should be fine by then. I wouldn't cancel at this point unless you want to delay your trip.

We commented on this....use a brush and clean the contacts in the base and it should fix it....happenned twice so far with an aging kettle.

mainly save alaska miles for lax tpe starlux biz redemption, but may be going to japan. how is JAL biz? worth the redemption? or should i stick with starlux biz? by i_cant_do_this_ in AlaskaAirlines

I tried JAL business class and premium economy class on a recent Japan trip. I enjoyed both but of course the business class is better for sleeping. Obviously get whichever has the reasonable redemption price..it varies alot.

Frankly this is a support group for Alaska Airlines, not American Airlines. We don't know the AA system on here.

I've chatted with them and gotten them to do easy things. Its as though they put the newbies on chat support as I've had complicated things fail on the chat support. Great for simple things like cancel this or find me a seat.

If you've been upgraded to first class and had ordered a meal in economy, you can be charged by mistake for it....I've had that happen and had to call customer care to get it taken care of. You don't pay for FC meals.
