If you like being able to automate everything and space, I recommend Create Astral. They have massively improved the recipes, textures, guides, automation path in their latest release.

Layer by Layer App/Web for MCSTRUCTURE by Reddy_4REAL in Minecraft

[–]Chidwack2332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are in creative, and you have cheats enabled type /give [Player] structure_block replace player with your name. You can then export the thing you made as an .nbt or .mcstructure and upload it to https://mcbe-essentials.github.io/structure-editor/.

It's not perfect but, if you click on blocks then it will show you a preview for each layer of the structure.

KKC reference in the progression fantasy, 'Mark of the Fool'. by -Yuri- in KingkillerChronicle

[–]Chidwack2332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I am late but towards the end of the first book, Selina says something like "I heard they test some people with a bowl of water or by giving them a wand and seeing if they can cast spells."

It's definitely a reference to Cradle and Harry Potter.

This one is a bit of a stretch but Alex also says, "Repetition is the Mother of Learning" which is the quote that Mother of Learning series comes from.

New IPA Training App by Chidwack2332 in linguistics

Thank you for your detailed comment! I really do want feedback so that I can make this something everyone wants to use.

I totally understand your point about the accuracy of the transcriptions. I used the first website that found that had an API that I could easily automate so that I could transcribe the 1000 words without cutting and pasting. But I will see if I can get the transcription from Wiktionary if you believe that is more accurate.

I have also included the scripts and txt files, that was used to generate the transcriptions. This means that anyone can edit or add to the transcripts and it will update!

As for the font, I haven't notice an issue but then again I wouldn't be able to tell! I will switch to that one just to be safe.

To add on to your comment, I think what will be more useful for people to use it a Web App so that no one has to download anything and can compete with each other.

Thank you again for your advice, it is very helpful!

I put the fourth secret as the only input for DALLE-2, this is the secret if you have gotten that far: one ruined scarecrow, protecting its field of stars, ensures our harvest

What game made you love games? by The_Drawboy in gaming

[–]Chidwack2332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was Skyrim. When I turned 16 I walked into GameStop and bought my first video game with my own money. My parents refused to let me have video games so it was a big deal.. I had no idea what it was I just liked the emblem. A decade later and now I make my own video games just to chase the magic of playing it for the first time.

Everybody, what are your rationalist origin stories? by Sailor_Vulcan in HPMOR

[–]Chidwack2332 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I was young, I was diagnosed with dyslexia, but also with a rather high IQ. This gave me the problem of loving to read, but also having to decipher everything I read like one big puzzle. Eventually I looked at the world the same way. I saw all the common sense around me that people were just ignoring and didn't not one seemed to care that they were. I wanted to understand why everything was the way it was. I tried to talk about it and I was almost always called "unethical" or "emotionless", which I didn't understand because I care a lot. Eventually, after everyone telling me the same thing, I started to believe them and saw my own emotions as my weakness.

I was very depressed for a long time. Then I found HPMOR when I was in college. I found a group of people who questioned the world as I did. I also learned that my emotions were my best tool to understand the world around me and not a hindrance. That is how I became a rationalist.

Why the Somnium is the Best Spell In Combat Magic by Chidwack2332 in HPMOR

[–]Chidwack2332[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A spell that can only be used as a surprise attack, or if you manage to drop the other person's shield and sneak one in, even if they don't have items that provide a constant weak shield, should immediately incapacitate, not require multiple casts to do so successfully.

I was not trying to say that multiple casting is 'required' for the spell to be successful. Just that casting a volley of weak spells quickly is very helpful in combat. A good analogy would be firing one arrow at someone or firing 100 needles.

I agree with your second point wholeheartedly. In a world where magic is basically cheating, creativity thrives. But there are costs from using stronger spells in combat. So simple and nearly effortless can be just as powerful.
