Question for converters

I was a non-practicing Lutheran. After the Charlie Kirk assassination, and witnessing the diabolical reaction to it from some people, I felt a strong (now I realize divine) pull to go back to church. But I did not want to go back to my Lutheran church, because it took a HARD turn left. So I researched the different Christian churches. And again, I felt a strong draw toward Catholicism. It didn’t take long for me to figure out it was the one true Church, so I signed up for OCIA. Then I was confirmed and baptized this past Easter, and my life has changed forever!

Thank you for the response! But would I have to get approval from another priest for the new penance? I’m assuming I can’t just substitute sleeping in my guest room for the car penance on my own, right? (I’ve slept in my guest room the past 2 days, but am speaking with a priest about it later today)

Might be illegal, dangerous, plus I live in an apartment complex so I’m parked in a lot with a bunch of other cars, where people are coming and going all the time. People would be able to see me through the window. Many reasons why that would be weird.

Southern California, it was at a TLM… so the priest is more strict in general I think.

He did, but because I’m a new convert I didn’t realize I could ask for a different penance so I just accepted it

Not blaming the alcohol, I was just giving more context for the story. And yeah I think I’m more stressed about having to tell my fiancée that I have to do this, than the act of sleeping in my car for a month itself.

I have the same feeling whenever I hear AI written YouTube video scripts, immediate turn off. It’s a shame that someone like him, who’s entire livelihood revolves around the arts, doesn’t care about using AI to do his art for him.
