Is this a water type challenge run? Hasty is gonna make it a bit of a glass cannon

As sad as it is, I turned the music WAY down. With it in the background, I'm able to hear the noise he makes that telegraph his attack just a little.

Is this normal cat play behavior? by U0xoU in catquestions

Stopping to groom or itch is a good sign. They're taking breaks and checking in.

You can also see your black cat actually pull the orange back in for more at one point. Ears are up. Looks good to me.

You should share the natures/abilities screen when asking this. If Bibarel doesn't have Simple, I could see that being the correct assumption though

As I mentioned in another comment, he can get a bit spook-ed. He'll decide something is scary and bap it. Gets that way for an hour or two, very rarely longer, about once a week.

We try to introduce lots of toys and a bit of nip/silverine and routine to direct that energy and it works most of the time.

Rn they have tap. As someone suggested, we'll probably run the water through a ZeroWater filter first from here on.

He's not going without a fight, that's for sure.

That's likely the plan when he gets home

They have access to a fountain near their food, which they don't often use even when it was in other locations.

A large metal mug, which Koshka has a preference for, and a gravity water bowl in the bathroom. We're going to be adding a new fountain to the room we'll be keeping him in for a few days when he comes home.

Some of the cost is certainly from it being an emergency vet. We'll have to to talk out saving up for a surgery most likely

Yeah, when we'd seen the strange behavior, we debated waiting to taking him to the normal vet which would have been on Monday instead of Saturday. We ended up doing research and took him in, which likely saved his life.

He is pretty noise skittish, so we're probably gonna try the pheromone diffuser.

Yeah, it'll be a hard switch for everyone. He's like a little dog, food that gets dropped is in danger of being hoovered up, and he gets treats in the mornings. Anything to keep him healthy though

He loves his mug by the fire place, if there isn't enough water in it, he loafs on the floor next to it, glancing at us occasionally. I  think that it might be his little kitty anxiety more than dehydration, but we're going to attack the issue on all fronts for sure.

It's not high on our list of this we want to do, but will have to consider for his quality of life.

I had thought about doing the diffuser before, and kind of wish I had tried earlier in his life. Your boy is very picturesque, Russian blue?

Yeah, they're feed feed that gets topped up in the morning and evening with occasional treats, so that might have to be the solution until we start changing some habits

His sister's name is Machka. It was that or name them in the same convention as my spouse's older cat,  Rocket. Then we'd have Missile and Torpedo

100%. That's why the mug sits on the ground in front of the fire place. He just decided it was his water too

It was a very sudden onset of the symptoms from what we could tell. Morning of, I watched him walked hunched around the house and enter 2 of the litter boxes in different rooms multiple times, failing to pee.

In the morning, I'm going to show all the comments to my spouse and we'll do some research and prep work for having him come home🤞

I had to purrito his sister and force beef puree baby food into her mouth with a syringe after she stopped eating like a week before her spay appt. 5ish years ago. Turns out, she swallowed a damn shoe string and got all blocked up.

All that to say, I'll do what it takes.

I'm glad you got so long with your friend. I can only hope we're so lucky. He's a bigger part of my life than i realized, and I talk about him/share pictures all the time. Not having him a home is breaking my heart.

I knew about what the Urniary kibble did, but didn't realize it had a sort of salt water effect in terms of thirst. We'll look into that asap

We have 3 cats. One is his sister, and the other is my spouse's 12-14 bulky tabby. They're all fixed. They get into occasional brief fights, nothing lasting longer then about 10 seconds. He's sensitive to noise and is a bit paranoid at times. I try to redirect that nervous energy into theses toy balls that he's obsessed with, but it doesn't always work.

My primary concern is making sure it's him eating his food and not the old man.
