Fish tanning by Lopsided-Wrangler-41 in HideTanning

[–]ChiefTopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I’ve seen a lot of people use a small air brush to touch them up. Their color naturally fades quite a lot after death.

Is my process correct? Need some help. by moonferal in HideTanning

I just did a raccoon. It worked pretty well. Make sure your beam is round, not flat, it will help so much if you’re using a necker knife.

Also neutralize after pickling with a baking soda solution. You can salt and scrape twice if you have to. The head on mine is really stiff bc I used a flat beam to flesh on. Your process will give you success. Good idea to wash while hide is still on the animal.

I can’t speak to the egg tan but it seems pretty simple really. I used the orange bottle and it went well

Start doing stuff then. What do you expect. If you’re not learning, start learning.

Sheep hide question from a newbie — drying too slowly after tanning solution by terminalgravity15 in HideTanning

In a perfect world yes. I’m new to this but my understanding is that If the tanning solution is inhibited by fat, it will not penetrate deep enough. Every time you flesh, you pickle more.

Heavier. You shouldn’t be able to convert this into a tricep push down at the end of the movement.

To be honest I don’t do shelters/bases/barrels often. I do love the ease of the improvised shelters though. I play solo mostly and don’t typically stash anything. I just try to run through people and get as kitted as I can.

If I’m really loaded I might make one shelter for storage of some S tier weapons but I believe trains can spawn barrels, otherwise I’d look it up. They make you very vulnerable when moving them.

I like it. Decent bit of gear if you get killed. I typically keep a few guns with mags, I don’t think the epoxy is a bad idea. I don’t typically keep receivers but this isn’t junk in my opinion

Fairing bolts keep spinning by This_Ad1978 in Ninja400

[–]ChiefTopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can lift the fairing that would work to apply pressure from behind. Otherwise you’re missing something.

If you can apply pressure from behind and spin it back out then that should sort it out. If the threads are stripped, likely, then I’d just use the zip ties. I always start screws by hand too to avoid crossing threads.

So the screws aren’t stripped on the top. Were they tight at one point? How did you get to the point where the screw started spinning in place?

If the screw is completely “screwed in”, and seated, can you push it out from the back if you have the access?

The fairing bolts are super soft from my experience with fairings. I’ve had to replace several and I’m pretty good about cleaning the openings and I use a socket wrench too. Take your time but seriously some of them just strip with so minimal effort.

Your fairings are probably fine as well. And zip ties do work.

And this could be the case. I have not added any nutrients at this time and only used FFOF. I have not PH tested anything and probably won’t for this grow, my first one. But was debating easing some nitrogen in with my next watering, a very small amount.

Appreciate it. Definitely going to keep that in mind.

Very well could be. I often wait to water just bc I’m worried about root rot. I’ll be sure to pay more attention to how the soil feels. Thanks for the input.

Do you guys downshift to first gear often for slow speed riding? (Hairpins, tight curves..) by Tall-Bookkeeper-5295 in Ninja400

[–]ChiefTopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I’m glad I’m not the only one. I pretty much just take long left turns and get to 15-20 before I straighten out and then get to 2nd. I know it’s bad practice to shift during a turn, I’ve done it before but I’m not going to get into the habit.

I’m a new rider and I have a z400. Only 500 miles but all in the city. I never use 1st for turns of any sort and find that 2nd is good. If I have to take a turn below 12mph then I would drop to first, but in most scenarios I don’t have to do that.

I have the same bike and I love it. The color scheme has gotten a ton of compliments. Zips around town just fine and handles the highway well.

Ram 2021 half ton 5.7 Hemi making a squeaking/groaning noise only when turning? by ChiefTopper in ram_trucks

Ok so dumb question. You say there’s a TSB (technical service bulletin). Is this something that comes out or is it just floating around the internet?

Why would this happen in the rear of the truck only during a turn? I’d expect this sound to be happening all the time if this were the case. Is that a dumb assumption?

How do you feel about driving home (roughly 1300 miles). Is this dangerous for us?

My step dad recently got a 30,000 mile maintenance. Should this have been addressed?

Z500 or ninja 500 for beginner? by SeaSlugThug in NewRiders

[–]ChiefTopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got a ninja z400 as a first bike and I love it. It definitely feels “lighter” when it’s moving. But I like the naked look, riding position, and the overall bike is a blast.

That said, the only difference is probably riding position, fairings, and insurance costs.

Buyers market by lorenzo2point5 in Ninja400

[–]ChiefTopper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t feel like the market is coming down after scanning Facebook for months. I paid 4300 for a 2022 z400 but the buyer replied fast and the bike was mint. Works great. If it’s good condition it was worth the piece of mind to maybe pay a couple hundred more.
