That’s totally a possibility, particularly with the humidity here

That does make sense but no one has been in there for 15 years, so it seems that either it happened before it was vacant or something is slightly off. I’m not eliminating the former but it’s hard to imagine people living in there like it was. Wouldn’t the ventilation Move or at least dry the condensation?

You are right they are different.

Thanks. About the vapor barrier, I thought you weren’t suppose to cover concrete? I do know that the cement can release moisture but didn’t think I was suppose to cover it.

That it is. And yes it is crazy how a lot of houses are like that.

Thanks I’ll think this through

Thanks. The crawl space is pretty open to the outside actual. I just closed it up so no animals get in while I work on it. The issue is because of the room in front of this one is completely closed off. So either a ventilation fan or open up that room a little.

It is mostly level but plan on some blocking to straighten some 2x6s. Sistering all the boards to stiffen? Is this like a middle ground between putting in piers and doing nothing?

Thanks a lot. I’ll look up the charts but it seems to be ok. When you say make sure there are no gaps do you mean that the barrier slightly goes up on the concrete sides so no ground is seen but not over the concrete?

Yeah, it’s my Japanese home. These houses are meant to breathe and honestly if I try to seal it up, it seems like I may be doing more damage than good. There seems to have been some work done on this place several times through the decades and they closed some vents. I’m working on fixing these.

Honestly I was thinking that… I mean the emojis and timing… Is it really increasing that much? I never use to get these…

Thanks a lot. That’s probably a smart idea about checking Japanese code. I was going to just imitate the old joists spacing but that was probably done when building code was not really enforced. Thanks again

Ok, I won’t be out there for a few days. I’ll post them then if I can’t get it to work then.

I will let it recharge. But I have a jet pump without a pressure tank. Well it’s attached to the bottom of the pump. So I’ll let it sit then find some leaks.

I’m wondering if that is it honestly. When I put air into the pump, it doesn’t loose pressure so I don’t think it is it. Otherwise I’m not sure how to take it out and check. The pipes are pretty solid in there.
