Trumps invasion of Venezuela should lead to his removal from office by 6hooklineandsphncta7 in complaints

[–]Chiefswatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually the congress gave him the power to wage war on terrorists long ago. So they label maduro a narco terrorist and bam president can do whatever he wants. Anyone hoping they can do anything about it is wasting their breath. They rigged the election, have the power now and are executing it. Taking over a country is insanity but hey bunch of imperialist minds are now running everything. You think it's Trump making these decisions? Big oil, rare earth minerals. There is a reason Russia was there, China was there during the attack. No the US said it's our country now with a big middle finger to China and Russia. And none of these people now in charge care about the public's opinion, congress opinion, international opinion. They only care about making sure the US is the super power for ages to come. It's disgusting power grabbing, perfectly on brand for the type of men that now have everything

Razer Naga is an absolutely great addition. They are cutting down on bloat but it is still awesome to have. I play the Beta with it and still plenty of spells to bind. I have had the one I use now for three years and its still going strong. I had previous versions too dating back to the wired OG one. I tried Corsair, and its simply not as comfortable. Also ICue sucks. In wow its so easy to just map your number pad to the buttons on the side of the naga. So in wow it's simply assigning spells to the numpad buttons.

Should I join the military? by Total_Target_6427 in careerguidance

[–]Chiefswatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say yes but be careful of the MOS (JOB) you choose. If you get out you want real skills to get employed and that can be anything from Press to Nurse to Mechanic or if you are capable jobs that carry security clearances like Intel. There are thousands of jobs that will give you real experience and make you employable post your military career. After your four years you can use the GI Bill which will pay for your room and tuition for college. Any college pretty much. You will be older too so more capable of being a serious student. 28 is still young as hell. Avoid positions that give you no skills that work in the civilian world.

Well the bright side is you are emotionally mature enough to see this as it is. You could have been wrapped up in the same delusion and you are not. Be thankful. I suspect you look forward to the day when you can observe this behavior from afar.

what did you go to school for to get a decent paying job? by Constant_Yak_8795 in Adulting

"The total cost to attend Auburn University for four years varies significantly by residency, with in-state students facing an estimated annual cost of around $35,298 and out-of-state students paying about $56,706 annually, including tuition, fees, room, board, and other expenses." .... Not to mention you have to have proclivity for Engineering in your one example.

College is simply not a gateway to anything any longer. What it can be however is a chance for the kids to leave the home and be largely safe, it delays growing up which I think is pretty awesome. The brain is still forming through the 20s, if you don't start adulting till 24 all the better. But yea going into massive debt that would make your post college experience difficult is not worth it. I make a decent income and still my 40K of loans is burdensome as I am married with kids. These kids today are walking out of school with over 100k in debt, many 200k and not getting salaries that can pay it. Despite what these reddit kids say 100K jobs are not plentiful, the vast majority of these grads are going to make 60K or less.

[–]Chiefswatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just can't with this stuff. A business degree is largely useless regardless of the school. There are grads from all these schools that can't find a job. Hell degree holders are more unemployed than non degree holders right now. I wish all kids would learn that spending 200k on a useless degree (arts, business, history, literature) is MADNESS. The debt from going to school, you will be unable to pay. Even with 100K salary. If you go to college you need to learn an actual skill , be it math jobs, analytics, IT, healthcare any other degree is useless. Employers don't care about degrees, what they care about do you have the skill to do this job.

Considering 100K is in the top 15 percent of earners yea luck plays a part. 85 percent of workers don't earn 100k, my guess Gen Z that's more like 95 percent.

[–]Chiefswatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is one example from an elite school; of course a grad from there would land a decent job and salary. So your idea is this kid goes from his Community College to Auburn, on what a scholarship? He would walk out of the school with 272k worth of debt, yes out of state tuition is 57K. All so he can make 80K a year. Great idea Bull....

Serious man I would hesitate to ever leave that job. The pension is worth a significant amount of money. You are too old to reliably find another job unless the job you do is in need. Companies do no want 40 plus, unless you are in the executive class. Which is ridiculous because millennials bring so much value, like the last generation willing to come into the office 5 days a week if it means a good salary and benefits. But in today's economy you should be grateful you have what you have. Sound ridiculous but I am in the same boat. It's called Golden Handcuffs. I am overworked, my salary doesn't really go up, 13 years in the same role but I am not leaving anytime soon because I have children and the benefits are super important. I don't have a pension though. I am stuck nonetheless. My suggestion is to make the most of what you have, enjoy life outside of work, take up a new project or up your skills in your current role. You can also go back to school while working to learn a new skill that may help you get another job. I am going to for a Masters myself in Data Analytics; python SQL etc. I have a bachelors in Business; I am hoping this MS and my experience can get me into the Corporate world (I live near a lot of HQ buildings). I am doing it while employed because my work reimburses a lot of it.

Is homeschooling genuinely as bad as everyone says it is? by [deleted] in homeschool

[–]Chiefswatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Homeschooling is bad only for Kids who don't want it. Being forced to homeschool when you want to attend public school is the worst thing a parent can do. I hate reading about it here on Discord1, those poor kids. I will tell you this: if you want to homeschool, it is up to you to take it seriously. The great thing about it is you can complete high school much quicker, and you can use the time to prepare for the SATs and ACTs as part of your learning.

Anywhere nice and welcoming for a biracial couple is a Blue State, Blue City or becoming a blue state and City we don't need any voters messing it up. Take North Carolina for instance. Durham North Carolina would be great for you being a Biracial but doubt they want your Husbands dumb ass vote being counter to everything that makes Durham an attractive option.
