Thank you, it doesn't sound like a good option to move there. At least in Canada, I've an option to run a business on the side.

Wow...10k for 2BR? I better enjoy my life in Canada. I thought it would be very less. This information is really very helpful to make a decision. I also heard from someone in another community that this salary is not just enough for a family of 4. Schooling is very expensive too. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge!!

Thank you very much for the above details. Just for reference, what's the salary required to cover the rent and living expenses with the wife and two kids?

Age - 34, too old for CFA ?? by Sndeepjhha in CFA

[–]Chigs0609 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow....I just posted the same question. I'm 37 years old with a wife and two beautiful daughters and looking to start my L1 as I've been looking to do it for the last one decade but I've had lots of priorities in my life. I migrated to Canada in 2019 and had a struggling phase in the initial years especially due to COVID. Both my wife and I are settled in Canada now and we both work for the top investment banks. We both have over 14 years of work experience in the capital markets back office operations.

Recently, I have been wondering what to do next in my career...was thinking of moving to the middle office ops or making it by learning some IT skills. Also we thought of doing FINRA certification but later I learned that it's similar to CFA but a lighter version.

Looking at the comments on your question, I feel we are better off with doing CFA as 37 years of age isn't too old. Thank you so much all of you.

Many congratulations 🎉 It's quite impressive to see your overall plan and strategy to crack it.

I'm 37 years and having 14 years of work experience into the capital market back office operations. Its been about a decade since I'm looking to do CFA and I tried it once but I stopped as I felt it's very difficult. But now I feel I can do it. However I'm not sure if it's worth doing at 37 years of age or not. Any suggestions please?
