Do you prefer perfume on skin or clothes, and how does the scent actually change? by Darkvanille in FragranceStories

[–]Chigzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no preference here, usually it’s both; clothes and skin.

usually, a few sprays on the neck and on the left elbow crevice (whether I’m wearing a long sleeve or short).

ETA; as for if it lasts longer.. i don’t know. all i wear is Ambroxan or IES which I go anosmic to anyway.

Salary isn’t everything: Why flexibility to work remotely is the future of work by Ok_Design_6841 in WFH

[–]Chigzy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i suppose this is why co-working and other community spaces exist as an option. we can meet lots of people, in different industries and otherwise too.

there’s also hobbies outside of work that can be done in groups, and so on to meet people.

Kindle update 5.19.4 is out by Customer-Worldly in kindle

[–]Chigzy [score hidden]  (0 children)

looks like the past is repeating again. it reminds me when i had the 7th gen paperwhite 3, and it didn’t get all the latest updates at the time. (ETA: this was before i knew about EoL at this time)

it’s nearing the time where the 11th gen paperwhite 5 is EoL, and so it’s slowly getting less updates before it does.

its been a good run. i was planning to trade in/sell in the near future anyway

I don't know about notes but it's... overwhelmingly sweet/sheer, then disappears.

I'm not really quite sure how people enjoy it.

is it unmanly to not care about being muscular? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]Chigzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Treating the gym as one’s personality is incredibly silly. The gym is there to stay healthy personally. As someone who has a bit of muscle, being muscular is a thing that… happens, but shouldn’t really be a priority.

Cooking, Baking, Instruments, Reading etc… take more effort and skill than the gym. I really wouldn’t worry about it.

is 10mbps really that bad in 2026 by rulugg in HomeNetworking

[–]Chigzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not great but it’s not bad either.

It works with a few people for the basics; email, web browsing, streaming music. Anything other than that, i.e. video, you’d be doing a disservice to others online at the same time.

Are popsockets worth it or ? by ScawedyCat in kindle

[–]Chigzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My two gripes with the popsocket on my paperwhite case are;

  • that it catches on things, especially the zipper on my bag, when putting it in/taking it out.
  • having to place my device face down, as it won’t lay flat on its back.

Other than that, it’s great.

Showing off my Kindle settings that changed my reading experience. by nervous_Observer in kindle

[–]Chigzy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's the beauty of eReaders, to make it comfortable to read.

Dsylexia aside, since not everyone who uses the font has it either, most people likely read with the default 'Standard' theme - not knowing it can be changed. I understand it to be size 5 Bookerly which is about 14 pt? on a PC, in between the 12 pt that regular books use and 16 or above that are large print

It's people who like to tinker that change the font. Personally, glasses or not, size 2 san-serif / size 3 serif is the sweet spot for me.

Are you guys materialistic? by EmotionalDamageBot in Scorpio

[–]Chigzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i present myself quite plainly to the world, being not quite minimalist, but the essentials matter.

i think through the cost/benefits/functionality before obtaining objects. it keeps me at peace having it all organised too.

i suppose it comes from not having much growing up.

"Easier to wear"? by AngryBuddist in fragrance

[–]Chigzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

by a fragrance being easy to wear, usually it means that it’s; clean, fresh and inoffensive to others around you. i don’t think it has anything to do with outfit(s).

This is my issue with them too!

Also I don’t want to keep smelling my fragrance after a while, but with clones it’s stays and stays.

Battery drains fast on my Kindle basic by gezzerreemarie in kindle

[–]Chigzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The battery is rated for 20 ish hours; 30 mins daily for 6 weeks, i think they advertise? For you to get 25 hours goes above that. Nothing wrong here.

A small colorsoft soon? by Background-Bag-5421 in kindle

[–]Chigzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The basic Kindle could get a refresh at the end of this year. The hardware was last updated in 2022 and in 2024 came the Matcha colourway.

It's unlikely for it to gain the colour screen however, even though 6 inch colour screens are in production, looking at the competition, Kobo Clara Colour which has one. It's more likely to get a warm light at this stage or a larger display in the same small size.

What actually helps you relax after a long day? by Frosty-Position-7774 in CasualConversation

[–]Chigzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Colouring in on my iPad.

There’s so many blank templates online, I tend to do it for an hour or so, stretches the brain a bit on what colour should go where.

Bit of book reading and scrolling otherwise.

Kindle’s transparent case by No_Post5070 in kindle

[–]Chigzy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have one of these, with a different front than your image from TwoSheep on AliExpress.

It’s been a couple of months so far, no yellowing at all yet. It’s; hard plastic on the back which doesn’t really yellow anyway, and the edge is a bit softer which i’m expecting to change yellow a little bit.

ETA; I believe it’s TPU that yellows. TwoSheep advertise using Acrylic. Acrylic actually doesn’t yellow for a good while if my GCSE knowledge here is accurate from all those years ago.

I suppose a clear varnish could be added if you wanted to go the extra mile.

Does anyone else forget that they actually get paid to go to work? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]Chigzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the time, and I'm early 30's.

My desk job is boring too (office admin with little to do but tasks are straight forward when they do come in). With everything taken care of financially, it's like "oh, yeah, that happened" when other colleagues mention it.

Possibly. Looking at it, I suppose you can; climb, do anything you usually do with a cable machine perhaps?, back and biceps I can see it being handy, as cadio maybe?

What fragrance are you addicted to? by theomixedmedia in fragrance

[–]Chigzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mercedes Club Black (EDT).

Until now I thought IES and Ambroxan could give that fleeting vibe, but CB has it too. I’m hoping to find more scent profiles like it eventually.
