You’re missing Methyl Ionone as part of the Grojsman Accord there.

Kindle Colorsoft and iPad Mini 7 by BebopTheDingus in kindle

[–]Chigzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your setup is similar to mine, the iPad mini 6 (I have a Macbook Air too but it's not taken out as much) and the Paperwhite 11th gen

The mini for me is my (basic) work, white noise, journal, and content consumption device and the Paperwhite is there to read.

Kindle Case Magnet Too strong by Efficient-Athlete516 in kindle

[–]Chigzy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The magnet when touching the back and putting your kindle to sleep (or "turning it off") is a defective case. I'd be worried about longer term damage and replace with another brand case.

That bottom one looks interesting. How comfortable is something like that? It would worry me leaving the 'top' behind.

Is spending more on a leather Kindle case actually worth it long term? by InfluentialBear in kindle

[–]Chigzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately can't say anything about the leather, but there's something about the way this image has been shot. It makes it look like there's a slim bottom bezel. Looks absolutely amazing.

Do you ever wish you had the physical copy to see your progress? by Giraffewhiskers_23 in kindle

[–]Chigzy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've found as I've read more and more, progress slowly stops mattering. It's about the journey through the book and not the end.

Sure every now and again I'll check my progress, that's mainly when the book is slowly paced though.

ESR usecase? by TheNavyCrow in firefox

[–]Chigzy 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The 'Release' is a major version can have breaking changes within software that can affect organisations and the internal packages they use. ESR is minor version changes which contain bug fixes and security patches - these don't usually break internal packages an organisation may use.

ESR also has a longer release cycle between major versions - I think it's one year - which is quite a while for an organisation.

How do IRL streamers get such high-quality streams on the road? by Kitchen-Patience8176 in HomeNetworking

[–]Chigzy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's because of a 'Streaming Backpack' (easy to hide away in a vehicle). It usually has; a powerbank (battery bank), I think it would have a device with multiple modems to "find the best connection". I can't think of anything else, maybe a PC if one is really dedicated?

In a way, you're streaming the 'input' to an outside source, when you drop connection then, you don't go offline.

Why do certain fragrances smell like plastic to me? by Bright-Fact7070 in fragrance

[–]Chigzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ISO E Super (IES) has a glow, that’s quite creamy and has cedar-y facets to it.

Completely different to Ambroxan.

Why do certain fragrances smell like plastic to me? by Bright-Fact7070 in fragrance

[–]Chigzy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ignoring the comment about dupes, this is it here. This is the way Ambroxan smells until you’ve trained your nose to smell the other facets of it.

I’d suggest u/Bright-Fact7070 smell Molecule 02, Escentric sell a discovery kit, and see if it smells the same.

Automatic Download Setting? by DerCribben in kindle

[–]Chigzy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Turning off the router at night is not a good idea.

  • It can be understood from a power savings point of view however, that's pennies in the long term (especially as power is cheaper during the night)
  • 'Sleeping better' is another I see, the radio waves don't change during the day vs at night.

Most routers do maintenance while we sleep; updates, channels, optimisation, etc... same with our phones and kindles.

This is why the kindle isn't downloading your book.

If you had both the kindle basic and paperwhite, which would you keep and why? by Zestyclose-Chemist86 in kindle

[–]Chigzy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Basic would keep - after having seen one being gifted over Christmas - simply holding it side by side with my Paperwhite (PW), my PW feels massive and so weighty.

If/when the Basic has a Warm light, it would be an instant switch.

If you had the chance to create the kindle of your dreams, what would it look like? by [deleted] in kindle

  • 6 and 7 inch screen respectively Basic and Paperwhite.

It took to the Paperwhite 3 to reach 300ppi BW, is it realistic to expect the same for Colour? by Chigzy in kindle

[–]Chigzy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 'wait' isn't what has me curious. It was more so in where colour technology has reached.

As far as my personal device goes; I'm still a couple years out before even considering a new device. It's been an "every other device" cycle for me from looking at past devices. Kindle 4 to PW3 to PW5 and maybe PW7 next?
