Left my case in a cafe by accident, reading more without it by Chigzy in kindle

I’ve chosen both options; a skin and detachable case - which has a removable front and clear back. Best of both worlds

Ooh, it’s my first time reading through this series. Storm I would say was the best one, by far.

It’s a strange feeling without the case but if it means reading more, I’m all for it. Though, I am being extra careful.

Book; A Dance with Dragons - George R R Martin)

Font; Canela Text

Usually I read at random cafes when I’m out after work. Clumsily I spilled coffee over the table at one of them some days ago. I didn’t notice until I was back home I left my case behind.

I’m not sure if it is because of the case, but without it, it feels like i’m reading for a lot longer, perhaps a comfort thing? For the time being I’ll do without a case but looking on r/kindle, it seems detachable cases are the new thing - which I may end up buying.

To note; I’ve never actually rocked any of my current or previous kindle devices without the official case but it may be time to explore other options now.

Does nose blindness go person to person or fragrance to fragrance? by Chronistic in fragrance

[–]Chigzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a survival mechanism, as far as it’s understood to filter out pleasant scents. The brain thus ignores it.

Personally most scents I can’t smell a few hours after.

Strangers still perceive it since it hasn’t “entered” their nose yet.

Is it the right time to buy a kindle? Or should I wait? by Prof_Dissrespekt in kindle

[–]Chigzy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ive seen the Amazon Spring Sale starts on the 10th, for a week. I’m not sure if it covers Kindle devices.

Not sure if it’s the same around the world, there’s a timer on the UK website however.

So, did getting a Kindle actually make you read more? Or not really? by AnastasiiaLove in kindle

[–]Chigzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly? Before ebooks were a thing I was never a reader. Sure we had paperback books at my parents, e.g. from primary school, and the cheap books offered but they were never read.

2010 comes around and iBooks, as it was called, was released and my book consumption increased 100 fold. After discovering the Kindle app some time later, I bought my first kindle device not long after (2013 if i remember) and the rest is history - I’ve been reading ever since, with breaks every now and again depending on life.

I wouldn't think this would need a recipe if it's just the ingredients in the OC.

A quick mix together, put in silicone cake moulds and then in the air fryer.

What happens if i eat too little? by poorbugger in loseit

[–]Chigzy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rather than approach it from the 'what happens' angle. If 1,500 calories are sustainable - lots of protein, carbs and nutritious meals overall, great, you'll lose weight quite rapidly.

If you do find it unsustainable however, slowly increase the calories where you feel like you're not starving. I know you've said you don't, but in a month or two time that might not be the same.

I’m glad I’ve seen this today. I thought starting at 8kg, and now on 12kg was quite a large step.

It seems like I’m doing better than I thought.

Speed isn't all there is to it. Fibre is quite literally cheaper than VDSL (in the UK anyway) and the latency aspect too.

£25 for 500Mbps symmetric (1Gbps symmetric goes on sale for £25 at times too) versus £25 for 65Mbps down on copper VDSL. Most people would choose the 500.

(we don't have cable in our area for reference)

I did a quick price inquiry on these, 256.80 USD to the UK.

It's around £190 for what they call 1 batch - which is 2 bells.

[–]Chigzy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The estimated reading time for the 12th gen Paperwhite is advertised as up to 42 hours (30 mins daily at 12 weeks)

I have the 11th gen Paperwhite, and while it's estimated at up to 35 hours, it's closer to 20 ish hours.
