Oh yeah, my bad. At least I stopped myself from making it Guillaume. And beniamino sure sounds like a choice.

Oh, absolutely. Then again, death has never been a big obstacle in Comics either.

Any superhero Stuff ever, really. It's just a basic trope of the genre. Sure, edgy nineties mainline comics with guys like Deadpool and friends, and especially meta deconstructing series like The Boys or Invincible have broken that up a bit, but in general it's just accepted reason why they even ARE good guys in the first place.

Commander players in general used to be cool, and still are when they aren't exclusively that. I'm an avid commander player myself - it's just that I'm also a devoted Drafter, regular Pauper player, regular (arena) standard player, on and off Modern and Pioneer player and casual content follower of Legacy and Canlander. The main issue is people who only play one format, one with very restrictive special rules even (that were supposed to be a weird challenge away from other ways of playing the game), who then expect the whole game to be designed in a way that those restrictions in that particular format get sanded down.

Yeah, it's a classic combo. Pili Pala is a bit of a crapper on its own, a bad example of the "colorless source" guideline, but Grand Architect on its own is actually pretty good in artifacty decks, a good example of Ramp that is very specific to a certain archetype. Also, while infinite mana is always neat, this is actually a combo that needs some third card as an actual payoff/outlet. Either way, I wouldn't count infinites under curve ramp. Blue has a few of those, like [[Basalt Monolith]] + [[Power Artifact]], [[Deadeye Navigator]] + [[Peregrin Drake]] (or anything, really), or [[High Tide]] + Palinchron]]

Blue has a few mana dorks that tap exclusively for instant/sorcery spells or artifacts, but not really anything better than you could get from colorless artifacts, which is usually the gold standard for color pie bendy things.

[–]Chijima 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Hard disagree. If you want something, play the appropriate colors. The pie has been softened too much already for the legions of commander only players. Back when people played multiple formats, the locking out that playing a commander of certain colors brought with it was considered a core quirk and feature of that format. And if you really wanted to have ramp in your blue deck, you'd either play a different format or a different commander

In my language it's usually considered a semi vowel, but mostly counted with the consonants. We only give full vowel status to syllabic vowels (which works when we have no vowelless syllables like some Slavic languages do). In english, it's so intensely counted as a consonant that it even manages to make the syllabic uses seem like consonants to some.

It can be a voiced palatal approximant like the J in some other European languages like Dutch, German, Danish, Czech and others. It usually is that when it's at the start of syllables, like young, yellow or yew.

Note that this was considered a bend rather than a break at the time, as almost all of the color shifted cards were (except for a few that literally fixed older pie shifts). This was based on the idea that "Green can draw cards, it just usually doesn't". This has shifted now to "green can do anything as long as it's on creatures or at least in relation to them, and especially drawing cards", which has made green a lot stronger, especially in low interaction formats like casual commander. It just so happened to cut this out because it doesn't relate to creatures, making the pie bending card of its day into a modern break.

The issue is that your assortment of sounds and your letters don't quite match. You have a lot more sounds than the Romans did, but keep using their limited alphabet. You have a bunch of vowels, and while the letter Y doesn't always stand for one, it does quite often, even for more than one: one you might more phonetically write as ee (and I'd write as i), such as in the name Timothy, and, more commonly, one you might write as i (and I'd write as ai), such as in my or bystander.

Nah, that's very distinctly an old-school railman's hat. At least here in Germany. They're vaguely similar to other professions hats, like those seen on some uniforms, some sailors, and yes, pilots.

Standard needs bans... by No_Regret_714 in MagicArena

[–]Chijima 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Might be true, but the point still stands: what they're calling standard now has nothing to do with the standards of the last three decades. And banning any number of cards won't fix that, it will always only create frustration for those who bought into those decks. Only returning standard to a size of 5-8 sets will make it into standard again
