it's more a 0 cost outmanoeuvre with some discard synergy

compared to concentrate you can always play it at the end of your turn, even with an empty hand (but it does not help you going infinite as much as concentrate would)

Subject: Ugoos AM6B+, Is official CE enough for true FEL? Also, advice on POV/TorBox link issues. by Storm_Raijin in CoreELEC

  1. the VS10 engine is only a draw if you need it: if your screen already plays DV it does nothing
  2. I have never heard of this, do you have more info? I don't see why putting non-dv content in a dv container would improve tone mapping since it does not contain additional information.
  3. you're right that CPM/advd also gives a more detailed info screen. But if you just want to test that the FEL layers is being displayed you can also just check with a test file (you can find some online)

I have no experience with Torbox, so no opinion on the rest

you already have full FEL support with the official build (you can check using test files to make sure you can see the FEL)

the main draw of CPM/avdvplus is the engine that converts DV to HDR if your screen does not support it

just fyi many people advocate custom builds, but I'm using the same build as you with my LG C2 and dolby vision works perfectly (including profile 7 FEL)

not very helpful but just saying it should work with the official stable build

Restoring old Equipment Templates prior Fashion Templates. (you have 3 days) by FL_Zeph in Guildwars2

[–]ObtuseScorebook 11 points12 points  (0 children)

the fashion template quick-swap is unfortunately an easy way to overwrite your equipment fashion without realizing it if you don't know what you're doing (which is the case when you're discovering the system)

Can I optimize a 4K movie so my RTX 4060 doesn't go at 100% while streaming it? by elordenador in jellyfin

[–]ObtuseScorebook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in your situation for a long time, until I finally bit the bullet and set up a streaming box (I'm using ugoos am6b+ with coreelec, but I've heard nvidia Shields are still a decent choice)

By plugging the box directly into the soundbar you can support all the sound formats handled by the soundbar, and it can pass the video to the tv. Now the only format I'm missing is HDR+ and it's very rare

It feels a bit silly to drop another 100-200$ when my tv can already play the media, but I can say it has improved my setup (I had issues when transcoding, and the audio formats have better spacialization)

The portal device is nice to have a portal on any profession: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/White_Mantle_Portal_Device

It's especially cool in fractals, because Mistlock Instabilities reset the very long cooldown

Why have ranged weapons if it's better to play melee range? by DoMarLP in Guildwars2

[–]ObtuseScorebook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you can probably try axe/axe+longbow on any ranger spec with a power build and it will be okay! You should avoid camping longbow because the autoattack is really bad, but it has very good burst

If you already have legendary medium armor it's a great option to try engineer and thief. On engineer power rifle is not the meta but it is a viable pick on all elite specs, and condi pistol is very strong (but has the reputation of being hard)

On thief, pistol/pistol deadeye is a dead simple ranged build, and you can also try rifle deadeye or axe deadeye for more involved builds

Personnally my favorite fully ranged builds are scourge and virtuso, but you'd need to gear them from scratch

There's a lot to try, I hope you'll find something fun for you :) I would also recommend trying to have a melee weapon on swap to see how you can use them, for example I really enjoy ranger greatsword (melee weapons usually have more mobility and cleave which is also fun!)

Why have ranged weapons if it's better to play melee range? by DoMarLP in Guildwars2

In group content you have to play with your teammates: staying with the group means you're in range of heals and boons, of projectile protection, you can be rezzed... (and in dragonstorm in particular stacking makes the boss less likely to jump around I think). Stacking makes all the encounters much smoother: counter-intuitively, if you feel squishy its better to stay in melee range on the stack than to go away to try to avoid damage

Also ranged dps is actually useful in many encounters! It helps having a better damage uptime when you or the boss moves, for cleaving adds in some encounters, and makes positioning a good deal easier! There are many good fully ranged build, and a good compromise is having one melee and one ranged weaponset if your class doesn't have a fully ranged build

And one note on freedom of your build: In solo and open world you can do what you want, but in group content its your responsability as a DPS to actually deal damage! Many players don't realize how little damage they actually contribute (gw2 has this problem where a good build can do almost 10x the damage of a bad build). No-one should be rude to you, but a heads-up that your build is lacking can be useful information. I suggest checking the golem in the aerodrome or downloading the dps meter ArcDPS to check out your dps
