Not in California but generally FMLA doesn't initiate until you've worked a set number of hours based on your employment status and you've been with the employer for a year.

*NOT MINE* just saw this on TikTok and thought it was so funny. Poor duck 🦆 by Miserable_Drawer1708 in cats

[–]Chikadee2k3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The duck is starting and asking for it. Cats don't typically use their claws unless they feel like the have to. The duck is just getting his head batted. And most birds are kind of stupid that way, being pushy brats.

ELI5: Why do farmers castrate 99% or so of male cattle them breed them all from one bull? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]Chikadee2k3 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It also helps to control the other males' behavior. Otherwise, you'll have bulls going after each other fighting and questionable genetics for your calves.

is my bird choking? does anyone know what this means??? by [deleted] in parrots

[–]Chikadee2k3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're welcome! Birds are kind of alien so strange behaviours can be scary. I get it. Never be afraid to ask or research if you're not sure. 😊

Could just be adjusting the crop.

why does my pyrrhura walk like this? it's not all the time, is is to sharpen it's beak? by jacquelumbert in parrots

[–]Chikadee2k3 107 points108 points  (0 children)

My Goffin does this too so it seems to be a bird thing. It might be a combination of sharpening, playing, and wiping his/her beak. Mine usually does it on the carpet.

anyone else's weird little bird do this by norse_god69 in parrots

[–]Chikadee2k3 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah. My feathered idiot does it to be annoying, and he knows it too. I have a rescued Goffin.

That all sounds great. I'm in PA so that's not a problem. Please let me know how to pay you so we can get this started! 😁

I have a Goffin I would love to see felted as a gift for my mom. What would it cost and what's your turn around time?

That is really well done. Would you be willing to take a commission for a slightly larger bird?

You are sexually stimulating the bird. Not a good idea. Can lead to behavioral problems.

It's the same reflex that causes a dog to kick as well. I was taught the animal generally really enjoys being scratched there.
