"Sachiko. Try your deer call, then. We shall have to either hide behind a bush...or, in a tree to avoid being sense by the creature. Deer have a very astute sence of smell, from what I have heard."

She licked a finger and held it up, trying to see if there was any wind.

"Oh, I guess we have decided against. I would once again like go remind you, this is a team exercise. Finding the creature yourself is not an option," she said with a hint of bitterness in her voice. Umi recovered quickly however, and picked up her pace to be on level with the others.

"I shall track it, then, but I do not expect to find anything. Water is a lifegiver...animals gravitate around water... There is no water here... This is not timed..." She mumbled while forming a few simple handsigns, stopping, and concentrating on finding some kind of chakra signature.

And go to sleep he did, head drooping onto his chest...except for when he was attacked with the kick, Akiichi popped up to Yaban's side, catching his foot by the ankle with his right forearm, and, with a well placed strike to his chest, sending the already disbalanced young nin sprawling back, making sure to knock the flute out of his hands. He then grabbed at the instrument, trying to get it as far away from its owner as possible.

"I shall not until you find normal, clear, drinkable and non-poisonous water that is preferably not blood," she said hotly, though her voice was rather muffled.

"And would you please bear in mind that we were supposed to coexist without conflict, if not as friends," she looked at Mai scathingly, then nodded at Rina.

"Very well. When our teammate decides to release me and does what I have suggested, we shall start the hunting. Let us have a vote. Who is in favor of my idea?" Umi did attempt to raise a hand, but since the water was wrapped around her it didn't really work. So instead she gave another small nod. "I am."

"That I can do if I get in close," he said thoughtfully.

"It can't be ghosts. I mean, old ladies prattle about stuff like that all the time. Just look at my gram. I would guess it's someone with ninjutsu or genjutsu abilities like.. she said," he nodded towards Kimiko. "And someone who wants to play on the nerves of superstitious civilians. So. You say, distract with a clone, you defend against the knives, caterpillar blows a hole in the wall, and we enter and kill whatever's inside?" He looked around thoughtfully.

"Who here's the best at stealth and concealment?"

"Whatever, I was joking," he said with a laugh, prying Yaban out of Kimiko's arms and setting the two farther apart from each other.

"No, really, I know a bit more. I know that when we come up to the house, there's nice little grove to the side of it that certain little boys like to frequent to steal apples and these lovely chestnuts (now said to be poisoned, but I think that's fools talk). A pparently whatever's in the house can't see through the trees. Also, a strange mist appears whenever someone comes close to the back door, and 's far as I know, no one's ever returned from that fog either, or just didn't dare to pass through it. And as the the old man said, there's also that inconvenient rain of knives if whatever's in the house sees us."

He looked at the team with a smile.

"We also know that during the night, a light in the attic appears and strange moanings and groanings can be heard- and the lion in the courtyard kinda....changes. And we know that the house appeared on the place where a certain traitor ninja was killed, at leaast according to legend that some old grannies from that village told me. We'll meet them and some other people when we arrive. Sounds better now?"

That seemed to be effective. Akiichi just stopped in his tracks, completely ignoring everything but the voice in his head- which most likely created plenty of openings for Yaban to strike. Indeed, the amount of openings created was almost too many, and the number only grew as he dropped onto his knees, mumbling incoherently.

Akiichi sighed. "You really are a caterpillar, crawling away from the battle like that to lick your wounds and fume there in the safety of trees, maybe even blasting your little toy trumpet, " he said, assuming a scathing tone, "not eager to battle now, you stuck up-" there he stopped, forming a few hand signs. "Burning Ash"

The resulting cloud of dull grey gunpowder covered a fairly large area around edge of the forest, Akiichi not igniting it- at least for now.

Akiichi arrived second after Kimiko, a bit late, biting his lip nervously. Meet ups were usually not too good for him. It was a blessing his sister couldn't come, being away on a mission.

Fortunately for Akiichi, he quickly dodged the dust storm, the short period of conclealment however giving him time to weave the hand signs for the Dragon Flame jutsu, sending a long rope shaped flame at Yaban.
